Does duoing in placements affect what I am placed at?
Hi, I am around gold level but am duoing with a friend who is bronze 2. will this affect how I am placed?

Only to the extent that your partner plays further away from normal than you. If you get into matches with a 55% expected win rate and you lose because your teammate is doing much worse than normal, or a 45% expected win rate game and you win because your teammate does much better than normal, then yes. But that's the same regardless of your partner's rank.
