I'm curious to see what everyones best support average KDA is. Mine with is 1.3 / 3.2 / 14.1

Lulu is bae...just played her for the first time last night, we 2/2/18 and 2/6/26; granted they were normals but for first times, ill take it

Nautuilus is my favorite followed by Alistar and Lulu I think actually, but I still have a lot of the Support champs that I need to play/learn...like Thresh.

On a side note, I feel like Chogath should be able to support but I haven't really gotten it to work yet, any thoughts?

I would disagree on that one. I mean, the knock up and the silence are good, but after he blows those / if he misses the knock up he's pretty useless. He can deal a lot of damage so I suppose he could be similar to Annie support, but meh. I'm a huge fan of the traditional supports like sona, soraka, thresh, blitz, lulu, nami, etc. People bringing annie, brand, shen, kennen bot annoys me :P

Annie makes sense to me because her stun is very reliable in my opinion. Brand, ya, he should never be a support. Those are the people who play support to just build all damage and try and burst down the enemy but will then have no vision. Shen I actually kinda see being useful. He's a tank in the first place so its not too hard to work on a low income build. Kennen is a strange one. I haven't played him at all before but I have seen the pros use it well (not saying that because the pros do it, it should be done but just noting that there is some viable strategy there, especially with Kalista ADC.)

What are your thoughts on Rammus then? Rammus actually brings a lot of supportive elements to the table but really doesn't have much damage to follow up; he's kinda like Shen in my opinion, especially with that taunt.

P.S., sorry that I am taking this off topic, just having some good conversation you know

No need to apologize, I'm lovin' it. In reality, you can take anyone bot to support and they will have their own unique effect to some extent. Darius can pull and slow, Garen and stun, Malz can silence and slow and poke etc etc right?

Annie isn't the worst, but it's still meh. I've yet to play her as a support. Kennen, same thing as above, he has poke, a stun, damage, but it's kennen. gtfo my lane :p

Rammus and Shen: I've played Shen support, though it's my favourite, it can work. Compare him to Rammus, though, Shen has unlimited poke with Q, he has shield so he can block 1 basic attack every time he goes in to Q, and the taunt can hit both enemies. It can also be used as an escape. Rammus, whom I actually used to main jungle and enjoy playing, wouldn't be as good because he has 0 poke, you'd need to go all in every time he does. I don't believe his taunt lasts as long, and his W is a great defensive stat, but compared to a shield he is still going to take some amount of damage. His Q would be good to catch them, but really, if they are far enough away to need to use Q, by the time you get there your ADC will be out of range, and your taunt will be over when the fight starts. :P

I want to try Shen support but I need to learn the champ first :/ lol. The way I look at it, as long as there is some form of CC or sustain, I'm with ya. The problem with that is when you get players who take a Malzahar bot lane and build full damage, don't build any sort of support item or buy any wards. Whenever I get support like that, I just feel like it game over because then we have no vision and no real way of disengaging, just my feelings though.

Yeah, some supports just want to watch the rift burn. I would give Shen a shot, he's a fun top too! I've been getting into him lately, and he's fairly easy to pick up. That's the other issue, take Nasus for example. In theory he's a decent support, he has a MASSIVE slow that lasts FOREVER, and AOE damage, and sustain. Though, late game, if he isn't farming his stacks on Q, he's going to be pretty useless.

That's why I'm such a huge fan of traditional supports. Lulu with a sightstone, mikaels crucible and twin shadows alone is scary. She has her W so she can speed around warding things and she has amazing peel for herself and allies, so she gets out of sticky situations easily. Whereas say, Annie, unless her stun is up, has 0 peel, and very little mobility. If she goes to blindly ward a bush and the enemy jungler is chilling in it, she's either lost her flash, or her life.

I like supports who HELP their ADC's both in a sense of poking, and damaging enemies, but also shielding, peeling, and tasting the colour purple. Annie can't taste purple.

Ya I got Shen from a Mystery Champ box and I thought, cool now I need to learn. Problem was, I had a bunch of other new champs I wanted to learn first and I just haven't gotten there.

I can imagine how bad Nasus support would be. The only Nasus is viable is for the late game to be the immovable tank that deals huge damage. I'm all for trying untraditional Supports, but Nasus is one I will not try.

Lulu is awesome, I cannot wait to keep playing her. First game I played her, my ADC picked Urgot, I asked who he wanted, he said Lulu, so I went with it. It was so fun and it is so rewarding to have Urgot ult on somebody, my throw my Ult on him and watch the carnage.

Nautilus will, at least for now, be my go to. I love his kit and, as a fairly decent tank player, his kit is perfect for me. Let's me get in, CC the ADC easily and take a ton of damage while my carries do all the work.

Yee. I haven't tried Nautilus, I used to be salty towards him because he wasn't a traditional support, but he kind of is now. I might give him a shot shortly, though in my opinion he's similar to Blitz, but blitz takes the enemy to you and your ADC instead of diving in. Thresh has a similar but better kit than Naut too. Though I suppose Naut would be better in certain situations. Who knows x) I want to get into some Nami, she's the only traditional support I don't own (other than Taric but I don't really think he's viable ever in this meta).

Part of what I like about Nautilus is he is less skill shot reliant than Thresh and I, honestly, feel like Blitzcrank is no where near Nautilus's level on usefullness. Never played Nami or Taric, Taric's a joke. Nami could be fun tho

Taric has the most reliable stun in the game. Only joke about Taric is that he's kinda aura based. W and R don't really show their strengths, but are very powerful.

Hooolllyyyyy That was a close game all the way through! Wish I had been a part of that. Sucks for the loss, but really, after something like that where nobody fed (except Lee kinda) and it was such a close game I'd leave that with "Damn I did well, good job me" haha. 3 deaths, 40 assists. Good job.

Eh, I'm mostly unconcerned.

I don't need kills, I'll try to die less, and get as many assists as possible.

I'm more interested in how much I've healed/shielded/cc'd/warded, and unfortunately not all of those statistics are easy to find.

I always love it when I look at a Match History and I have over 40 wards placed and the enemy didn't place 40 in the whole match

Possibly, that is a pretty unbelievable KDA, though on that account he has one game with Janna and went 0/0/18 which is pretty good.

i am diamond 8.3/3.3/14 (7) I have so many kills because it's Lux keep in mind I only have 7 games with her and it's a 100% winrate so it isn't accurate!! If she doesn't count as a support then .8/3.5/15.1 Janna (4.5) Used to be better but it slowly went down when I hit my 100th ranked game with her :-(

Oh man oh man. She is so fun, and does so much. IMO she's the best all-round support. Realistically, she has damage, a big multiple target slow, a speed up, a polymorph, a shield, a damage + pix placement, a knock up with a slow, a major heal. Throw a mikaels on her and she's terrifying behind a team. I would definitely try her out!

I personally prefer her support. I've played her mid once. I can agree that she makes a good mid and top, but I'm a fan of the support Lulu. :)

I don't play Ranked, but I'm gonna list my normals KDA anyway. Lulu 1.8/7.3/18.8 over 13 games Soraka 5.0/5.0/23.7 over 3 games Morgana 3.6/5.6/11.8 over 5 games(2 of these I played mid lane, so it's kind of skewed)

(My main three supports) Plat 1 Nami 188 played 58% 4.19:1 KDA 1.5 / 4.5 / 17.4

Janna 179 Played 54% 4.46:1 KDA 0.8 / 3.8 / 16.3

Lulu 148 Played (she's in an okay spot though her ap scalings are so strong that i'd prefer her in a solo lane) 47% 3.51:1 KDA 1.1 / 4.7 / 15.5

Keep in mind that KDA isn't everything in a support

List of things you should do as support:

consistently buy vision wards
have good vision control, meaning that you should upgrade your sweeper asap
do your best to peel for your adc
if your adc is a literal caster minion, just peel for someone that matters.
also kill participation is a thing and you should roam to other lanes once your/enemy team's tower has been destroyed.
