Id like a Riot employee to journal a new account and tell us about his experience

Starting a new account in this game is the most toxic cesspool smurf filled experience I have ever seen in ANY game. I thought that Riot was actually drawing in a lot of new players, but when playing all you get are smurfs that are creating brand new accounts and ruining the experience for new players. I talked my friend into finally playing it, and he's quit already - only took him to level 12 to do so. Every game its all about who can report who, who has the better smurf, or has saved up for the most unbalance champions.

My friend flat out told me, he doesn't have any fun. Riots response to toxicity "just mute". My friends response, why should I have to entertain the ability to mute everyone on my team in a team environment that Riot is trying to promote?? Final straw was when he got leaver bustered when he got disconnected from one game due to a power outage on his street, and then again two weeks later when he had to leave and pick up his sister from the hospital.

He told me that this is bullshit. He's not toxic, rarely says anything in chat because all the teams do is yell at eachother, yet he gets penalized because of unforseen circumstances.

I'd really like to see Riot start a new account, and just share their experiences. Show to me and the community that the new player experience isn't just filled with toxic outrage that actually wants you to keep playing this game. I've just about given up myself because all of my friends have left this game. After playing the Over-Watch beta, I might just start cracking down on that.

Smurfs get put with other smurfs. If your getting 300cs a game and a 10-2-16kda you wont be matched with people who don't even understand buying items yet.

While I can understand that leveling a new account may expose a player to much more toxicity than, let's say, playing Ranked in Plat, but the experience is also greatly subjective.

Someone like me won't be affected as much as some other people by the toxicity. I frequently mute people at the first sign of toxicity, or even if I'm doing poorly and expect it I might mute some or all preemptively. I also don't participate in arguments and I don't flame people, and if there is an afk/feeder I just ignore and play around them. If the match is absolutely lost, I just play for the fun and stay away from lost fights. If I were to write about the experience, it probably wouldn't look as bad as someone that gives in to the negativity.

Also, I can't wait for Overwatch to go live too.
