is it scripting to use macros?

so my friend just got the razer black widow keyboard and he plays lee sin a little bit. He wanted to know if setting up a macro where he uses ward and w on the same key is against the rules. I wouldn't imagining it would be because you are still making the choice to use it, its not like a script where it will override your choice and make decisions for you.

For that, yes. If it is performing multiple actions for a single button press then you are crossing the line. It's unfair because you can consistently perform a combination perfectly beyond human ability.

Yes, it is.

If it is performing an action on keypress, then it is alright.

But only one action for one key stroke.

If your friend does multiple actions with multiple and equal keystrokes then it should be alright, if i recall correctly. If with a single keypress does more things than once then it does not.

But probably a designer disproved this and said macros were totally out of the water? could someone remind me if this happened, i remember meddler discussing this a lot.

Yes, this is against the rules. According to Riot any type of 3rd party program that gives you an advantage in game over another player is banable.

Custom keybindings can be a bit of a greyzone when it comes to abuse. With the addition of LGS and Razer's synapse, keybindings and custom macros have become very popular. In general one action per keybind is fine but multiple actions with a single button can be very much on the redzone. Tell your friend to enjoy their black widow and to be careful with those keybinds!
