I've played a few games today with people not banning players, people who have all the badges still running around owning people, and what seems like a bunch of non players just running around at random dying. A friend of mine is trying to get his next badge, and it's like everyone, including the people we're matched with, are trying to prevent it.
I like Ascension. Not just for icons
The best option if you want to get perfect ascension is to organize a full team. Otherwise you'll just meet trolls in game. I got lucky and forced the enemy team into a surrender after I got a pentakill with Kha'Zix.
I have seen it in games. One in particular, our team was against a cho who said in chat he was there specifically to stop perfect ascencion. By that time, three of us already had the icons, but it's still pretty poor sportsmanship.
Both teams should want to do well, and should want to ascend, but going into the game with the express purpose of preventing others from earning rewards is pretty douchey.
If people didn't beg for the enemy to throw the match then nobody would respond in a trolling manner (and continue to play to win, like they would regardless).
