Are you experiencing botted accounts?

UPDATE: I've reviewed the boards over the past few days and learned of the new exploit that seems to be attached to the BotRK. I don't want to divert my attention, but I will take names for those who are collecting names of users taking advantage of this, while still taking names of people using IP Boost scripts.

If any of you experience these players, you can (if you'd like to) also send names of these users to [email protected]

Please separate the two, if you're sending me mail with bot users, toss in a quick tag, and if the names are for BotRK exploit, tag on "BotRK" before the names.

I will see that Riot receives each list in an organized fashion!

Hello everyone

Over the passed month or so I've been addressing threads concerning botted accounts as well as accounts arranged in order to sell them.

In order to assist riot in supporting their fan base, I've been collecting account names in which these concerns are focused. To help make things easier (and thus speed up the process) I have formed a gmail account specifically for your concerns.

My request to the community is very simple:

Please document the names of these specified accounts and send your lists to me.

I am already working with a list of accounts formed in the weeks passed, where this problem has seemed to grow at an exponential rate. Below are a list of objectives and reasoning behind each.

  1. Report all botted accounts you come across: griefing "Botted account." help Riots system filter out names and issue bans automatically

  2. Though our hearts are in the right place, do not allow a team carrying bots to win. This actively speeds up the leveling and sale of the accounts in mention

  3. Document botted account names and names of account used for the sale of said accounts. see 4

  4. Email me your lists of these accounts, do not post account identities on this forum. I have formed a list of accounts with help of the player base in LoL, thousands of tickets will only make the hunt tedious for support agents, and will take away from the rest of the community, my goal is to keep everything in one place and organized, posting names here will issue a dismissal of thread and automated warning from the system

  5. Spread the message to players you encounter who are also having trouble with this matter. We can effectively bottle-neck the problem if we grow a knowledgeable resistance, and not only that, but we can also provide some security in the minds of those who have gone through the same frustration as us, but do not use a medium of communication.

I intend to keep everything in order and help the community by helping riot support, i have experience modding forums and running as admin on forums and gaming teams alike, seeing hundreds of threads and tickets addressing the same thing can be overwhelming and demotivating to anyone, remember that these are individuals too.

Also, as an added element of faith for you who I see posting with zero to little trust in Riot addressing this issue, I have been in contact with not only support agents on the matter, but also admin staff. I assure you that they are indeed aware and working to resolve the issue, as any company would.

Lets allow Riot their space and support the Riot support team in returning leagues to the state it should be!

there are also bot player that will attach them selves to a player and follow them around for the entire game it gets annoying they don't attack when following you and when you recall they target another champion on your team to follow until you leave the base

The issue with that being, most of the time both teams have a substantial amount of bots, and one is bound to turn out victorious.

This may only relate to Soraka bots in particular, but I've experienced at least two of these that are programmed to follow whoever else went bot lane with them. I even showed my allied Tryndamere (who was jungling, it was a bot game) that I could walk away from lane and the minions, back towards Golems, and Soraka would follow for no reason.

They of course would be programmed to heal you once your health dropped enough, used Wish in the same manner (except it'd be an ally across the map), and again, provide no communication. These bots should be the easiest to report, honestly.

It has become pretty much impossible to get a game in blind pick Twisted Treeline lately without there being at least one bot, from what I've been experiencing anyway.

Most of the bots that I have seen will attack minions before any thing else. The surefire way to tell if it is a bot is no kills a ton of deaths and no communication. I have had multiple 3v3s that have been all bots but me. Thank you for compiling the list I will start marking down the botted names.

I thought maybe I would post a little update for the curious community.

I have been sending in lists to Riot support for some time now and I want to give a thanks to those who are putting their time into collecting names / reporting etc.

Riot is receiving my mail and responding to each one as they come, the responses have been very quick and while they see and respect our efforts, I've come to learn that some respect needs to be given towards the unknown.

Riot is making the smart choice of not giving me too many details, because in hindsight to this whole situation, who's to say that I am who I say I am, which again, is nothing to be upset with, instead I "sleep more soundly" knowing that they refuse information hand outs.

I did however request that they give me something to give back to the community and was met with a responsible response

Due to security and privacy reasons I cannot go into detail about the investigation process or even what's going on with the list of summoner names you have provided. I know you may feel like you are being ignored with the lack of feedback, but the security risk is too great for anything to be shared publicly. Any information that may leak out will only serve to help the botters and boosters out there to circumvent our systems. Sorry about the frustration, but that's just how it is.

I initially felt like not posting this, and I still don't really, but there is nothing here beyond the obvious that any company approaching this matter would do, in turn, this was a perfect response to one of my many emails.

I will not be giving names here, but thank you Riot!

In turn I just kind of wanted to throw this out there to encourage some to continue their efforts, whether it be helping me through the means I've provided for you, or messaging Riot themselves on your own terms and always reporting each bot you see.

In short: Riot IS handling this issue, as you would expect a company too, and they are approaching it with patience and responsibility.

if there are any lost threads out there relating to this issue, feel free to share the link to this thread, and if you see confused or angry people online, feel free to educate them and maybe take some stress out of their lives.

each and everyone of us are helping Riot, and though the response is a little vague, I would not expect anything more from a well organized and responsible team.

This issue is naturally hard to correct, and I'm sure that a mutual realization of this and a mutual respect of efforts achieved on both sides are recognized and appreciated :)
