There is no "pause" button

Of all the times I have left matches, I have only left 1 match because of a different reason. All the other times were because of my parents. My parents aren't happy with the fact that I am a gamer girl. They are the stereotypical Asians, and they are always encouraging me to quit my addiction. I admit that I am addicted, but maybe their strict rules is what lead me to it. At one point, they made me delete it, and I didn't. I just hid the file on th e desktop screen. I played whenever I had the chance, which was when they would leave me at home or they were napping. I played under constant pressure, fearing that they would catch me (they have a cam to watch me :/), and I would get in H U G E trouble. And they did, 3 times. Just recently, they finally let me play it. For 1 hour. I play 2 normals before going on to a ranked. On my team was a fizz, who was on his promos, and he was really nice, so I when my parents made me quit, I was horrified. Ok so I got a leaverbuster, whatever. But what really got me was the fizz who was on his promos. He didn't deserve it. So what I'm trying to say? Parents, please don't make your change children dc in the middle of the game. It not only hurts them, but their team as well. This goes for other online games as well. Understand that games can last from 30 mins to maybe an hour. A good solution to that is maybe instead of a time limit (for ex, 2 hours a day) maybe try something like 3 games a day.
I know my argument doesn't seem strong enough, but please, for the sake of summoners on the rift... Parents, don't make your children dc in the middle of a game. Read this letter for a more valid argument https://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/miscellaneous/bEhf1EPt-open-letter-to-parents-of-league-of-legends-players Next time I'm getting to RP I'm gifting fizz (I'm gonna give screenshot of it) for the inconvenience I caused :((

sorry your parents are so harsh on you... but if you are addicted maybe they are right to watch you... but there is no way for riot to put a pause in the game for 1 person to hold up a game indefinitely while 9 others wait. it sucks as it is for afks. trolls and all the other bs in game.

It'd be one thing if they encouraged moderation, but that's not the vibe I'm getting...

There TECHNICALLY is; /pause, not sure what it does since it simply says sending pause request and that's it...

Honestly just move out and live on your own. Your parents seem like assholes just leave them, let them be all dictator on your sibling or something.

GET OUTTTA THERE.

Same problem, parents only let me play an hour on Friday and Saturday. Like, on the dot 60 Min. I gotta be real careful. Finally, someone who understands my pain

You is gamer grill?

But for real, sounds like you have a bad case of wanting to press the big red button that says do not press. Of course, it would be easier if there were buttons you could push, but this metaphor is going nowhere

But I think this is something all parents can learn from. My dad (great dad on the whole) but I've stopped trying to interact with him about videogames because he doesn't get it. I can explain how the game works, but he just asks again. and again. and again A bigger pet peeve is people not realizing the game takes concentration and asking me questions while I'm playing. Even in games you can pause, breaking the flow of action could prove fatal.

As for pausing as whole, not having a set time frame is also a problem. But that's more just a complexity added to the larger issue.

The best solution I've seen is doing everything else before When I was still in high school, I started playing at like 8 after doing homework, eating, and any chores my parents wanted (I knew they wouldn't ask for anything else after).

Hold on, your parents have a camera to watch you?
