I'll start by saying I've been playing this game since Kog came out...

I RP'd in the event with Shurelia and many others that introduced Maokai.

I played in games with Guinsoon and Shurelia, and have even been match with Phreak, and Taco Storm in ranked several times.

I was here for Sunfire Eve, Deny Plank, and hextect revolver stacking.

I've wrote Odes to NMST. ( http://forums.na.leagueoflegends.com/board/showthread.php?t=611133 )

I've changed GD's mind about AP YI. ( http://forums.na.leagueoflegends.com/board/showthread.php?t=803354# )

To everyone But the Lore department I have nothing but respect...

However the Lore department has earned my ire to the point of me swearing off buying RP...

For two years they took action that have massive impact on game immersion without every discussing it with the players.

This to me seems a great affront to the normal Riot policy of open discuss before change.

I'm not sure I'll every feel the same about the game honestly.

Nope...

She isn't making a video game... She doesn't pride herself on a standard of meaningful fan feedback about major discussions. She doesn't work with an interactive medium.

and then you have Riot's Lore department...

That Refuses to riot lore for a game, saying that making game lore isn't good enough Won't talk to us about anything meaningful. Has removed the player from the game lore effectively throwing away the interactive medium.

At this point I'm not sure... but maybe Riot outsources their Lore to another company.

But dude. Lore is just like any other story-based medium (e.g. books, movies, etc.). The fans have NO INPUT on what the story will be like for the next installment, because that's the writers' decisions!

Even video games do this. Do you think fans decided that Master Chief would end Halo 2 by saying: "I'll finish the fight."? No...! That was and always will be the writers' and creators' decision!

And I think the Lore department want to reach out and extend LoL's lore to not just be represented in a video game with the retcon. I honestly think they're shooting for a TV show or a movie, that'd be canon!

A movie about the League itself with summoners and stuff would totally suck, right? I mean, it would basically be a movie where you have a couple of 5v5's and only a small portion of champions would be main characters, and not have a good way of developing characters or stories. Heck! Think Hunger Games with 10 champions in a 5v5 game, pushing turrets and nexus and stuff.

A movie about League of Legends would totally suck if it was about the League of Legends itself. I think that's one of the ideas that got Riot's lore team to ditch the Institute in the first place. And the game is still an interactive medium... It's a game! You can decide what X champion does. The skin team could potentially make your idea. And you can talk directly to any Rioter you'd like. Either through the boards or Q&As.

Riot doesn't deserve love excluding the lore team. All the Riot deserves ALL THE LOVE!

Champ balance is the designers decisions as well... but they talk and listen to us

Yeah but we got to play as Master Chief in the LORE setting. Without the IoW... none of what we actually PLAY in game is cannon... or even remotely connected to cannon.

No... no it wouldn't.

The IoW is the one solitary Unique thing in LoL lore.

Without it... we get just another fantasy world with steam-punk elements, sword, guns, and magic being used at the same time. This is a dime a dozen... If I wanted a story about this I can go take my pick. There are a world full of better stories with this set up.

Harry Potter wouldn't be harry potter without Hogwarts... LoL isn't LoL without the IoW.

But hey you want to be kicked out of the lore... that is cool. you are entitled to that feeling.

No I just have a different opinion from you and none of your points persuaded me away from my opinion.

Even with the IoW, a movie about league could be about anything in Runeterra.

WW killed Urf remember, So even the murdering of a champ is on the table. It could be about Kat and Garen Leading forces into a skirmish verse each other...

Or Nami seeking out Diana for help with the moon stone.

It could be about Noxus once again invading someplace...

It didn't always have to be about the FoJ... but it could be.

Hell an interesting premises of a movie could even be Noxus winning the rights to an area in a league match.. And then characters bumping into each other as a result and tensions growing.

As a writer myself the IoW is an interesting set peace that is only as strong or weak, good or bad, as you the writer make it.

The writers of the Lore get to say how strong it really is... as at the end of the day it is made up of mages who specialize is a certain school of magic that has limitations.

From where I stand people like you never cared about the lore in the first place. I doubt you even put pen to paper about the lore ether.

Where you there for the Role Playing event hosted by Shurelia. Where moakai ran over over summoners and Champs alike.

Where Mundo was no match for him. Ez was forced to flee... While summoner desperately fought and mostly lost to stop Maokai from killing everyone at the event.

where summoned dragon and wolves constructs went wild and turn on the crowds that had gathered to watch the match.

I think you were not... otherwise you might have a bit more connection to the IoW as an interesting place.

Before you make a counter argument, evaluate the other side's points, and actually counter them. as opposed to simply restating your previous points more agressively.

Is this just the standard response to everyone who dislikes new lore? Because this is along the lines of 2 year old logic.

He actually did respond to the points presented. He even did so respectfully, and without attacking the speaker, both of which are things you should keep in mind. He then proceeded to make his own points, none of which were addressed by you or dialMARK4acti0n.

Ark Angel HFB actually did something rare for forums here. He constructed a logical argument, and defended it with more logic. I would recommend you mimic it, because without that you won't compete.

There always will be people who complain about everything (not that that's a bad thing, Riot needs feedback after all), but in the midst of that Riot needs to know we appreciate their hard work!

I say riot is doing really good now (except for the lore of removing JoJ and the shurima event) since they're all on top of things. The TU on PBE, Sion rework, and dunkmaster darius are some things I think Riot is doing great on.

I love Riot! They host the most played game in the world. OF COURSE there will be jerks. After all, most humans are nowadays ^^ LoL just gets more cause of the huge player base is all.
