Muting everyone ingame

I've decided lately to turn off all chat and mute my team at the beginning of every game, and thus far the games I've played like this I've enjoyed more thoroughly and haven't felt frustrated at all. Does anybody else do this? I'm curious if you guys tell your team you're muting them? Usually when I notify my team I'm muting them they swear and call me pathetic right off the bat, which whatever, I mute them and report them at the end. But not everyone did that, some just said OK and what not. Only issue I can see if I don't tell them I'm muting them is if they try to talk to me and assume I'm not communicating with the team, which is reportable I guess.

What do you guys think?

I think you should've already learned not to tell people you're muting them. What kind of reaction are you expecting?

Its childish to be muting your team. Communication is key. As a support gold 2 main, I need to constantly relay info to my team. Grow some balls and l2p

well i mean if you can pay attention to map/pings i guess its fine, cause i had a ww jungle that did this and said he would listen to ping, the entire game he didnt watch pings or the map at all and would just splitpush nonstop even tho it was a bad idea. so i guess if you have gioo decision making and map/ping awareness its fine.

I usually do this if I'm on tilt or something because league is more fun with the jokes. Granted if we start losing I might have to do this.

If you don't like talking to people in a multi-player game, maybe bot games? <----My honest suggestion, no troll.

There's a compromise to be had here...

Don't always mute everyone. You don't have to keep someone muted the whole game (long enough for them to figure out you're not responding to their taunts at least). Sometimes you do need to suck it up, but not always.

It doesn't have to be always or never.

Nice :) Great advice. Only thing I might add is don't tell them your muting.
