The whole point is for reaction. I won't lose game on purpose. But its fun to give people a good scare. And you'll never know if there is a troll to ban your favorite champion. So maybe lying might save your main.
In my case my best adc is Tristan.
Or you could actually help your team build a team comp around a champion. Being DUR DUR DUR I'AM FUNNY DUR DUR DUR or play the game. You can already do it in any game, live by selecting a champion just for the lolz.

If I ever pick "fill" and it lands me the position as adc, I'd probably in all seriousness intend to pick Soraka and see if my team freaks...
She'd honestly be my best pick for the role, damn I need to practice some marksmen.

I think what people aren't realizing is that. Once a group is formed, and before you go to champ select. You're in a lobby with these people, TALKING. So once the group is formed, and you get your initial reaction out of them, just tell em it was a joke and who you really want to play as. Riot is giving teams more "time" to communicate before pick/bans, Now instead of trying to ban and work out strategy at the same time you get to work on your comp while waiting for a game.
