Toxicity, Chinese players, and Early Morning Games

I just wanted to bring something up that I've noticed for quite some time now.

Whenever I play League of Legends early into the morning (1AM PST - 5AM PST), I noticed that a large percentage of the players are Chinese players, presumably playing from China due to the time zones or simply playing late at night like I do.

The problem is, nearly every single one of them is extremely toxic. Nearly every single game I play in this time period, I'm matched with 3-4 man Chinese premade teams who will curse me out in Chinese, swear at me in broken English (usually along the lines of "sb, go fk ur daddy. noob idiot" or some similar variation) and gang up on me for no reason whatsoever, then I get a 3-4 man report no matter what I do. A large portion of the trash talk starts in champ select and post-game screen as well, I can only hope that Riot has access to those logs when they review their cases.

The worst part is that due to the time, and perhaps the fact that my normal game elo is relatively high, queue times are kind of long and I end up getting matched with the same players again and again for that night. They proceed to continue cursing at me in Chinese, abandoning me in game (such as leaving me 1v2 bot while they 2v1 top), or just otherwise griefing me. And I get another 3-4 reports stacked onto my name. They have no qualms about lying and playing the victim in all chat either, as soon as I defend myself they take to all chat with some lies such as "report smlte, toxic. verbal abuse me", and it really doesn't help that a premade of 3 is all saying that in all chat. I then have to spend the rest of the game trying to reason with the enemy team in order to avoid getting 7 reports.

Playing League during the day has much lower toxicity levels than before thanks to the stricter punishments, but it seems that the Chinese players after midnight remain unpunished, perhaps due to language barriers between the player behaviour team and the players (?), but boy it is getting out of hand.

Disclaimer: I am Chinese as well. This is not meant to be racial-hate thread, but I have to identify this particular demographic as being out of hand.

Write a support ticket and be persistent about it until you get a real response from them.

This has happened to me exactly in a lot of late night norm games. And, it was a big factor in getting me to ditch playing norms unless absolutely necessary (like to try out a champion I never played before).

I've reported them for refusing to communicate, verbal abuse, and AFK'ing, but it still seems to be a prevalent problem.

It's because their culture promotes more tryharding over just fucking around like we do here. Idk, i'd LOVE to meet these people :)

It gets worse when they leak into the normal time zone for NA, trust me. I've been unfortunate enough to be paired up with 4 man pre-made teams of Chinese players. Immediately in they won't speak English, and I'll keep telling them I don't speak Chinese. They'll ignore, and so I'll just pick what i think is left, only to have them rage.

I've noticed that a lot of the time when I get paired with these types I end up against a team of the same region. More Chinese players in the enemy team as well. It's honestly a little overwhelming.

I don't mean to sound insensitive, but they're in a NA server, and I would expect them to speak English at least a little because of that. I always end up reporting them because they'll do nothing but insult me or others in English, then continue to spam pings at me when I'm at my tower, and random Chinese characters I can't read.

But the worst part about this is that a lot of these players seem like they do know some English. Enough so to spam me with "Szeraphim u dragon wtf u suk" or "I ping wtf u do noob cunt" when I ask them why they're pinging me danger and fall back from my tower randomly.

I usually play arams around those times and have some hilarious games. People are nice, will to tell dumb jokes and sometimes meet bad plays with bad plays just to keep it going.

In reporting in a game at the end of game screen. There are options. Since I am not able to report myself, such as when I involve myself inside of their team morale team huddle or lack of, at times I will report the person; when I can collect their name in the middle of the game as to a contrast report. There was name calling initiated from this person, while I might have had a better game if I did not reply at all =as an example in trying to contrast report myself illustrating a bottom line quality they could compare to when reviewing the specific game.

My concerns inside of toxic communication would be the aspects or affects of speaking language skills encompassing a form of game time League of Legends online gaming. Are they trying to distract you from your game? When typing back if not timed correctly, and not watching your screen, either die as an accident, or immediately there is gold which could be lost to you but gained from them.

When the comments fly, is your game then interrupted and taking you out of your intrapersonal online game zone (personal thoughts to you only) level of game time frame of mind focus of attention? Ignoring is helping yes or no? Read where less replying inside of toxic talk, or low team morale communication is helpful in building to higher tier classifications for our ability to play the game.

If refusing to not mute, I agree with the decision not to cut my teammates off, hence, then there being a lack of Team communication. Which, is a valuable component inside of Team Competition.

I compared the definition of Toxic. Note please, inside of the definition of Toxic there is an element of Poison. There is a level of speech communication skill when there are people maybe pleased, but more than ok with the could be claimed level of online Video Game toxic bantering. However, the level of communication bantering which you have described and are repetitively exposed to, is enough to need the review of their behaviors. The skill of inflicting a level of poison inside of communication exchanges and be alright to walk way from the classified level of toxic communication is a concern to be addressed.

Think the contrast of behaviors sort of reporting is one avenue to take. As far as trying to address the concern geographically, that is going to be difficult. With more of your reporting there is more building up of evidence which then maybe could constitute a better means of addressing geographically.

I have played inside of the time frame you have shared. If there is toxic communication occurring, then I report in Accordance with the Eula or the Disclaimer Legal side or in Accordance with the Summoner Code. (Made some edits, but a list would be space lengthy.)

This is why NA will never be good. Too many vajeens playing the game. You know in Korea the players actually fight eachother like River City Ransom over in-game problems with teams.

I have experienced this as well. My main account is permanent banned... (this is relevant). I deserved the perma ban, I intent fed and was toxic af.

Now I am on my smurf, I am higher elo, and I haven't been reported since. I am the same person, and I am not playing too much differently from my older self. The change? Time-Zones I play in... AND, seriously, not joking here, I pretend I am an EU Player. Start of the game, I say nothing... then as the game goes on and I notice someone mention me or my champ, I reply with "Sorry not english speaking". They ask me where I am from... "I am EU player. German" That solves most pointless reports and hate.

Now, I am not saying you copy my idea or strat or w/e you want to call it. I'm just pointing out that these sort of things shouldn't effect whether I get reported or not. Being reported numerous times for something... without even knowing WHY you are being reported... and worse yet, reported often enough to the extent that you get PUNISHED, still, with not knowing exactly why, causes some seriously tilting emotions.

Just my 2cents, I still love rito.

I'm a Chinese player and I honestly can't deny the fact that Chinese players are really toxic but being someone who plays with Chinese players on a daily basis (unless I'm playing solo), I just want to say a few things. These are REASONS why they do what they do, Im not defending them in saying they're not in the wrong but I want people to know their point of view.

  1. People say they should speak English since it's NA, but when the do in broken English (their second language), they're often rebutled with "lmao learn to speak English", "lol go to school you can even speak properly", "you say I'm a noob and you can't even speak english", "go back to China". What does language have to do gaming skill? And also, what's the point of speaking English if you're just going to get attacked for not being a native speaker? HOWEVER, this is only occurs when there are arguments between people (I say arguements because it happens even when they're not being toxic but giving advice on being better, ex. "Next time, flash then Q instead of chasing" and the other person is ignorant, happened a lot during my experience playing smurf in silver)

  2. They are toxic to bad players. I know this is not a plausible reason and i know this is why all toxic people are toxic but honestly, what can you do when someone is being a complete bronze? I am going to speak behalf of some of the toxic people in this point because its true. Let me ask you this question: in rank, would you rather have a toxic person carry you or have someone who has a positive attitude lose you the game? And please don't tell me "it's just game". Many people play rank for the competitiveness to reach a higher division. If you want to practice a champion at more serious game than blind pick then that's what draft is for. It's the same as rank but it doesn't affect your rank. And a lot of people don't rage at your first mistake. After constant bad decisions/refusal to listen/feeding/trolling/being ignorant, that's when the toxicity begins. What can you do when someone's losing you a perfectly winnable game? Yes it's just a game overall but it sucks to lose because of one person is being a dick instead of an entire team's skill level. You can argue with me that the person could be new to the game or whatever, but in my opinion, being new to the game and making bad decisions is okay, I will give you suggestions on what to do but when you're being ignorant, can't take criticism and being stupid (like still trying to 1v1 a 4/0 when you're 0/4) is not.

  3. Spamming pings. Everyone does it when they're trying to annoy someone (like constantly pinging your champion). But when you're constantly pinging you to not fight, they're telling you to not be stupid and fight a losing battle. I've had an instance when would give like 5 MIA pings and a teammate would say if I spammed my pings one more time they would afk. I would always spam my MIA pings, why? Because most of the time when people are concentrated on the game, they don't notice one or two pings. I need to get their attention, I am communicating, same applies to the second point in there.

  4. The original post said they would swear in broken English like SB, go fuck your daddy, noob, etc. but isn't that what every toxic people say? Native speakers usually say go kill yourself, retard, etc. what's the difference? They're all swears.

  5. You get ganged up on and get a lot of reports. What I'm going to say might sound racist but it's not. These are facts. A LOT of North American people are really ignorant and too self-confident (ACTUAL research is shown that North Americans have the highest self confidence percentage). I've seen this way too much: people are criticized for their stupidity and they can't take the criticism and say I'm going feed and telling the other team that his teammates are being toxic.

  6. I'm usually not a toxic player, I will give advice on what to do if I see someone making bad decisions, say "ty, gj, etc" as most would do, but when someone begins to be toxic my friends, that's when I lose my cool. And that's what usually happens too. When someone is being toxic to someone else's friend, you're going to step in. And that's when the 4 reports come in.

  7. Most Chinese who play in NA are those who are studying abroad and 70% of them usually come from rich families, being more snobby, rude, and have worse temper than most people. This is a speculation. So yeah, they're pretty toxic.

I know these aren't reasons to say they're not wrong because they are but I just want to tell people why this happens. And being toxic is never right but honestly what can you do when a teammates pissing you off so bad? And also, id just like to say one last thing that applies to every league player: when you're complaining about someone being a noob, it doesn't mean you're a victim. There are always two sides to a story. For example, when you're saying "I asked my teammates for a gank and ignored me and started calling me a noob", the reality could be that you lost your lane badly meaning even if the jungler came, it'd be a double kill for the enemy team and they called you a noob because you still wanted to fight them when they could one shot you.

Don't play at that time then? I mean you should be sleeping.

If it's any consolation, the number of reports from a game doesn't matter. 1 report and 9 reports count the same if it's from the same game. So you don't have to say anything to the enemy team to avoid more reports. You can (if you can) focus on the game, and mute all if needed. I think it's fair to assume at that point, they don't care about winning so much as harassing you.

This forum page should actually be titled "NA; the only region that whines and complains and spams reports trying to ban people for words that hurt their wee little infant feelings instead of just using the MUTE function"

Seriously. Listening to NA brats whine and cry about how toxic other regions are... DO YOU EVEN REALIZE HOW PATHETIC YOU SOUND?! NA is the WHINIEST of all regions. Everybody has their kid gloves on and cries to riot because somebody used a combination of letters that devastated their delicate little ego, WAH WAH HE HURT MY FEELINGS, WAH WAH SO TOXIC WAH WAH TOXIC!!! WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

I prefer playing with a premade of 4 chinese or 4 russians because they PLAY BETTER!!!! They HONEST TO GOD do, play SO MUCH BETTER, and they don't whine and cry and howl and report and beg for reports after the game because I disagreed with them at some point in the game. If I could figure out how to play with Russians or Koreans without taking a huge ping penalty, I would NEVER PLAY WITH CRY BABY NORTH AMERICANS AGAIN, EVER!!

What whiny oversensitive children in NA call "toxicity" is actually a useful tool called "ridicule" that has helped mankind for thousands of years to identify good ideas and bad ideas, and keep whiny idiots from ruling the world. If you're being yelled at and spammed by premade chinese players, it's probably because you're BAD and doing something YOU SHOULD NOT BE DOING, but by all means, keep whining and crying for riot to ban everybody rather than face up to the fact you suck and need to improve. Heaven forbid anything wound your sensitive little ego.

Commence downvoting you prepubescents, I know you will because it's YOUR wounded ego I am talking about. Pathetic.
