Harrowing Gifting

I was reading up on the rules of the Harrowing Gifting in a response by Udyr

  • "The price is 490 RP [ per mystery gift ] and he will receive a skin that is valued between 520RP and 3250RP"
  • "Standard gifting rules, 3 gifts per day"
  • "No, you don't get to pick the skin or champion. You just pick the friend and they get a random skin for a random champion."
  • "Harrowing Mystery Gifting will be a pure random draw. PFE will have the same chance as Freljord Ashe."

The bold item is the one I'm most curious about. The way it's worded could mean one of two things.

  1. You get a random skin for a random champion that you own.
  2. You get a random skin for any random champion.

Which of those two is it? I'm really hoping the first as I try to keep my champion list small. Getting just any random one, while it would be a good deal (no IP), if I never play it, it's not too valuable.

Thanks for any feedback (Riot or otherwise)!

In my opinion, it will mostly be your first guess. If they actually gave free champions, 490 would be way too generous... for Riot... if a free champion could be obtained for 490 RP AND a skin with it.

yeah pretty sure it is a random skin of a champion that the person owns. I would find it strange if you could get a skin for a champ that you didn't own.

I know that is says that the skin will be worth between 520-3250RP, but what if you get gifted a skin thats on sale for less than 520? For example, normally a 750RP skin but on sale for 375RP?
