Dear jungler, from an ADC main.

I have read your pleas on the board and I hereby promise to no longer take your jungle camps.

(I only really took golems if I was being lane bullied and the enemy laners deny me CS. If I am not able to get out from my turret, golems seem pretty tempting..)

Other then that I never really took other jungle camps. But I have noticed that many people do take your camps, and I won't take your golems anymore.

The only other thing I would like to say is, I know you need like the first couple of reds, but if there is ever a time when your willing to give me red, Ping me and then ping the red buff signaling you're giving me the red buff, otherwise I will leave it alone. Some junglers have done this I was confused my frist time but I picked up what they were saying pretty quickly. Most junglers don't usually say/ping anything..

But, what if there was a chance me and the support could snatch the enemies red buff? Is that free game?

Usually if me, the support, and the jungler are tanking enemy red buff I usually back off on the last few hits and see if the jungler takes it, and if they start to leave it alone I know that's the signal to go for it.

Also.. in botlane..

Idk im a little ehh on some things...

I know some people are like "If jungler gets the kill dont tax"

Idk.. if either you get a double kill, we both get one kill, or I get a doublekill or in other rare cases the support takes a kill.... or 2.... o-o lol

I guess what im saying is... **Would it be best to push for botlane turret if both the enemy botlaners die? ** I guess it depends on the situation..

most junglers come in, gank(Get/give kills, or just scare them off lol), tax, and leave... and sometimes im like "But I really just wanna get this turret already.. T-T" If we kill both botlaners...

Anyways... Tell me what you think. :3

At first I thought this was going to be a troll thread. But props to you mate.

As a jungle main I would say a lot of this is fluid and subjective. The jungler really does need his camps, especially gromps for the tanks after cinderhulk/5.5 patch. As for red buff, unless the jungler is literally carrying the game the buff usually goes to the adc right as the laning phase is starting to end. Enemy red buff is ALWAYS up for grabs unless it's a lvl 1 invade.

Taxing the lane is weird to me. I still don't believe in it much as a jungler. It's one thing to last hit while a solo laner is backing, but you'll find that taxing really comes down to the individual views of the jungler each time.

As for pushing the lane, I always think in solo queue it's a good idea to push the lane if you 2-0 the enemy bot lane. More global gold and more control over dragon.

Hope this helps!

It kinda depends on the jungle champ, for all of those situations. Some junglers really need/love having red buff for themselves, so they can actually use it better than the ADC in most cases, so they can chase better. Usually the jungler will take red buff for himself consistently until the teamfights start becoming really heavy, and people group more. In a teamfight situation the ADC usually uses the red buff better. So once people start grouping, you can generally start asking for red buff. If you can get to the enemy's red buff safely? The ADC should take it, because the jungler can take their own red buff.

As for pushing lanes/towers with junglers, certain junglers do it better than others. People like Xin, Jarvan, Vi, and Master Yi are extremely good at taking towers, so if you're jungler is one of them, and you get a double kill bot lane, ask them to help push tower, especially if dragon is down. If dragon is up you should do that instead of course, but if it's down, take the tower. Some junglers, especially tanky junglers aren't as good at taking towers, Zax, Nautilus, Sejuani, they aren't strong tower pushers, so unless the tower is already at less than 50% or so HP, then it might be better to just invade their jungle some, or even 3-man roam mid, try to get a kill there, and maybe take mid turret with 4 people.

This is actually a well thought out post. Coming from somebody who constantly plays jungle (and riding a certain scarecrow that gives free wins) these would be my thoughts on what you said:

About taxing, I only do that if I didn't get the kill and even then I take like maybe 1 or two CS (I forget a lot). It is extremely beneficial to have your jungler help push the wave though so if they get CS while doing that they probably aren't there for the XP or gold (more so to deny the enemy XP and gold). Turrets are also very good to get if you can kill it early as it massively increases your dragon control and global gold.

With red buff I'll give any red buff after the 2nd red to my ADC (so long as they aren't doing horribly). I like the first two usually because it enhances clear speeds, HP regen, and the slow on-hit is great for ganks. Afterward if the ADC needs it (or I think they do) then I'll ping them if they are within a reasonable distance. Its easier to do this on the blue side than red side.

With jungle camps... I'd prefer it if people don't take them. Unless I'm ahead, then my farm from the jungle means a lot to me (I don't care much if you take Gromp or Krugs if I start at the top side at the very beginning since they will be up again by the time I get to farming around there) and it will be a large chunk of my gold and XP income. I can understand if you need like one camp to finish an item but taking more than one camp when there is a minion wave nearby is just kind of selfish in my opinion.

Lastly (as a comment to my own personal experience) I find that the best way to help make bot laners understand this (and any laners in general), I just need to be polite and straight-forward toward them. Jungle's a role about getting your team to trust you more than anything, you carry your teammates so that later they can carry you. If you end up pissing everyone on your team off cause somebody stole one or two jungle camps then you will likely lose due to break down of communication. Likewise, if your laners get mad because you take a few CS while pushing the wave for them (or even rushing the turret) then a similar thing will happen and nothing will get accomplished.

TL;DR When everyone cooperates instead of getting mad due to misunderstanding, you're going to get more accomplished with less sacrifices.

When i jungle i dont mind if they take some of the minor camps, just dont take my blue/red without asking...that hurts me as a jungler. I depend on the health from the red and the passive buffs for ganking, and for god sakes if im diana jungle get the F off my blue...if i dont offer it to you, assume its mine for the remainder. If the enemy blue is up, you can have it and i will swoop in ward the crap out of the area and help you take it.

Besides that, as another jungler side note, leave the raptor camp alone ffs! The jungler needs the raptor buff to clear wards and have more successful ganks...just dont touch it....ever. take the wolfs, krugs, hell even the gromp i can live without mid to late game, but guys...raptors...MINE! you no touchy!

ReiAngel3/21/2015, 5:22:28 PM2 votes

I say hell yes! If your jungler just came bot lane and the enemy bot laners are gone then go for it!! That's a wee (reduced to like 150g) bit more gold in your teams pockets and one less turrent to push. As long as u guys have some vision in blue jungle side i think all would be good. :)

I also try not to take anything from my jungler (if on the rare occasion im forced away from my support role) unless i ask. Unless they have the red buff already from taking the enemy's, then i take ours to ensure the enemy jungler doesn't come and take it.

When jungling, if I don't need red I give it to the ADC if they can afford to leave lane for it. As far as pushing if you get a double kill, that depends on the situation. How low are the three of us (if all three survived), where is the enemy jungler? Where is the enemy mid? Would it be better for you to stall and continue to farm a winning lane or push and start roaming? Is dragon up? Most times I'd rather get help with dragon than push a tower if I know you'll be able to continue to win lane

The way i see it, as someone who plays adc and jung quite frequently, the little golem always free game, but if i'm building devourer's blade please leave the big one i need my stacks. Other than that if you feel like you need it more feel free to take any camps just be smart about it.

first of all adc mains need to learn how to right click, just had a game where the adc did less damage than support http://matchhistory.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/#match-details/NA1/1768635028/213915290?tab=overview

I for one never "tax" lane. I seriously think that it is a matter of it's not your lane, so don't take it. It's the same with the jungle camps and laners though. It's not your jungle, so don't take it (although, the enemy's jungle is everyone's jungle, so that's okay). The only time I will attack minions is:

  1. They died/recalled/ganked another lane so I will cover and stop lane from getting shoved by opponent

  2. There is a massive minion wave pushing a lane so I will deal with it if I am the closest

  3. I will help deal with the last couple of minions in a wave to speed up the pushing of the tower, which I will help with until the minions are gone. Even though I will attack them, I will always refrain from last hitting and stealing the gold.

Junglers are subpar non-thinkers and will not understand this message. They'll dive the enemy ADC and feed them 5 kills and blame it on you.

Summonerrr 13/21/2015, 9:42:07 PM1 votes

Communication OP.

All joking aside, good communication as to what camps the jungler wants to take and which one's he's OK'd you to take, enemy jungle as a FFZ or not, etc. is important.

I enjoy games where junglers are very active in lanes and rotate out camps to carries that can use them more than games where the jungler is super passive about roaming, teamfighting, etc.

Immobile Carry3/21/2015, 11:19:47 PM1 votes

With my main being Kog'Maw I know how tempting golems are when you are trapped under turret... so instead of taking the camp all the time when I find myself in this position, I only take it half the time. You know, to help out half the junglers. :)

DorkunedAuras3/22/2015, 9:39:51 AM1 votes

I would tell you as a non-jungler is to make sure you're aware of the types of junglers and who likes what camps. Because each camp gives a buff when smited, each jungler wants something different. I'll roll over each then talk about who likes them for reference.

Krugs: every 6 AAs against monsters will stun for 1.5 seconds. Super useful for champs like MasterYi, Warwick, and Udyr who hardfarm the jungle early, though they don't get much use from this later one. This is probably the best camp to take once laning is over, as the buff isn't useful in fights.

Raptors: Single use oracles for spotting out a ward. DO NOT TAKE THIS WITHOUT ASKING!!! This gives us assistance while ganking, so they can spot wards, helps later on for cleaning out wards, and is always a useful buff. PLEASE LET US KEEP THIS, IT HELPS THE TEAM SO MUCH!!

Wolves: Releases a little spirit into the jungle that gives vision and chases enemies. This one is fairly ok to take, though the free ward is super nice to help spot out when enemies are invading. I'd say don't take if the enemy might invade, more forgivable a take if you're controlling the enemy and map well.

Gromp: Deals a DoT effect to all enemies that attack the champion. Late game this can get above 200 damage. If you have a tank jungler, NEVER TAKE THIS FROM THEM. People like Rammus get so much damage off of this that they try to have that up as much as possible. If your jungler is something like MasterYi, then it's much more ok to take his because he doesn't play to take much damage, and doesn't really benefit from the DoT.

All in all, making sure you know the buffs can really help you make informed decisions on what to take if you have to take something (say 100 gold off of IE). Since I'm a Rammus main, I rarely clear my jungle, instead getting most of my gold off of ganks. I'm typically giving away blues from 2 onward, and I keep my reds for ganks until we start teamfighting where adc uses it best (though I never give buffs away to someone who I think will just die and give it away without getting good usage). I love my gromps and raptors, and the other two are useful but expendable. Just ask and I'll be glad to say yea or nay.

Kapppaccino3/22/2015, 3:18:56 PM1 votes

Ehh. When I adc and I'm ahead I would actually rather have the turret up as long as possible. I'm guaranteed more kills when they keep coming back to lane. And it's a lot less riskier diving first tower then the second tower(more room to escape and less chances of getting ganked) only time I'll take tower is if enemy starts roaming or minions take it lol

You leash me to get red buff early, I'll leash you to get red buff late.
