Summoner Name Botting

This is my second time trying to acquire an expiring name. The first attempt was "Name" and this time "Err." Both times I have been slighted, and I was furious when I tried getting the name for 36 hours. When I saw that the name was actually transferred to a level one account again, I was suspicious. It was highly unlikely that humans could constantly sit in front of a monitor all this time. Then I thought that some botting website would have been getting these names.

One quick Google search brought up the answer: various sites that I don't know if I can mention are cheating legitimate players off summoner names that are supposedly "obtainable." Instead, these websites automate getting names on level 1 accounts and selling them for prices high as $400 dollars, and highly unsafe. How is such a dirty, illegitimate monetization allowed? This is as bad as boosting.

I know I am one of the few people who want these kind of names, but I just want to know that I am competing against humans for names, and not against bots who are clicking every millisecond to steal that summoner name away. Please Riot, these operations need to stop, and summoner names should be given back to the community.

Yea, I was waiting for the name Waffles for probably the past 5 years, and kept changing to low leveled accounts. It went available last month, but not only was the sites "estimated" time way off, it finally transferred to a level 30. I was sad, probably never going to get it now. But I did notice names that stuck on low level account switch constantly, or people don't play for like a year or two, and a game at the very last moment it's about to get released. Wasted names that people could played in-game with, held by a-holes for no good reason.

You just have to out beat the name bot by knowing the exact time when Riot release inactive summoner names. http://www.auplod.com/u/udpoal6c174.png

This is a very serious issue (as someone who is slightly dissatisfied with my name) and am very glad you brought it up. I hope riot finds a solution to this problem.
