"Just Move On" What it truely means to be dedicated to a game.

Since I posted this somewhere else I'll just say that now incase its been read already. Figured I'd make my own about moving on from a game I love/loved.

I've moved on from alot of games in my time. League will soon be replaced by gigantic and black desert online when I get a better computer.

Im done with this game after 5 years. I played alpha. I owned black alistar. etc etc etc.

I've seen it all when it comes to this game I was there. I experienced it and felt the changes. The game was at its peak before ahri was released. and then everything after and including ahri was just the desent into madness for me personally. The champion kits lacked depth and instead had alot of damage and things to do instead of that.

champions like jayce that have alot of stuff to do but require in reality very little skill to completely squash the enemy in lane simply because his stats were and still are so high.

Spikers(people who play w/e's fotm.. this includes pros) Don't really care because they just want their elo or their wins or actually enjoy the broken champion kits.... w/e their reason. Its not my reason. I fell in love with a moba that had depth. I lost my love for a moba that sacrificed depth for ingenuity and complexity.. This game has become more often then not a chore for me to play now and I feel sad when I admit it.

The only reason I can't move on is I'm limited because of the people I support in real life and the lack of funds this allows me for "me" time. At the end of every month I barely have 100 dollars to spend on anything I want. And thats assuming I don't have extra bills or something. This money goes into the bank for those random accidents. And then is used up generally 2-3 times a year for doctor visits from sickness or car falling apart.. w/e... I don't get to just start over on a new game. I'm stuck with older games. Games I've loved since day 1 of their release. I'm not complaining.

I'm just saying thats how it is for me.

I've watched giants like runescape die. Broodwar come and go. Guild wars 1 have its time. I've seen the hype of games like firefall and what they promise. I've seen what activision did to CoD after CoD4 I've seen the halo franchise be turned to ashe by releases like Destiny sundering the name of bungie and 304 destroying the story that made halo 1-3 so amazing to play.

I've seen lots of things.

But riots is special in the fact that they can change. Before they're truely run by some higher corporate hand. but they won't They change for the sake of change. And not for the sake of the community. And this will be their downfall in the end.

its all about LCSbigplays balancing now champs like zed and yasuo that are flashy and a spiker magnet

makes everything about the game just ....irritating and frustrating when an entire archetype gets turned to shit and further nerfed every patch by kneejerk reactions and the same BS every year at lcs

they dare call it "strategic diversity" even LOL

strategic diversity on the most ON RAILS, AD NAUSEAUM , LIMITED AND BINARY META IVE EVER SEEN IN A MOBA

I understand and agree with you op, been here long enough too, stopped playing right before ahri patch actually , came back bout 2 months ago, and im already fed up with this games bs , my playtime hasdropped from 10 games a day to just doing the first win of the day match with bots then going back to something else

I just don't enjoy the current state of the game and its enforced BS assassin meta that riot seems to WANT (read tlets nerf sindra the only mage actually doing decently in this meta)

and Ive seen this train of thought and balancing in wow I know how it ends, ill be back in four or five patches once people actually complain this year about it being the same lee sin/soraka/annie/zed spam in every lcs match

People move on from games all the time. It doesn't mean there's anything wrong with the game, it just means you've reached the limit of your tolerance for playing the same game on end for years. I moved away from WoW a few years back for that reason....

It also doesn't mean that that love may not be rekindled at some point, as I've actually recently started playing WoW again. These things happen, there's no point in making a huge deal about you running out of your tolerance for a game you've been playing for years... just move on, find something new to love, and don't burn any bridges. You never know what may happen that might rekindle your love for something from your past.

I quit LoL a while back too, albeit for a different reason. That doesn't make it a bad game in my eyes.

But if there truly is some specific thing you dislike about the game... the best thing you can do is create a detailed, logical, and focused post explaining what it is you dislike and why, in detail, you dislike it. Riot truly thinks they're doing the best thing they can to ensure the game moves towards a balanced and competitive state.... whether they're right or not remains to be seen, but without people who love the game sharing their experiences without ire, without rage... it's hard for them to know what you're thinking.

So if you really want to help Riot see what you feel their mistakes are, leave this thread and go take some time, write up a post in wordpad or MS Word or something of the like and then save it. Don't post it right away... save it and come back the next day and re-read it. If the feedback still rings true, then post it. If not, then make some edits/rewrites to make sure you're conveying EXACTLY what you want to say, because you have to be clear, concise, and thorough. Let your passion read through, not your anger. Because that's what they need... they need feedback explaining where your personal problems with their game are, feedback that doesn't read as just someone raging endlessly - because they're used to tuning out rage.
