LoL: Achievement Update

I had the interesting thought of adding achievements to LoL. Rewarding ones at that.

Easier ones would obviously net you some IP. Once you do some harder ones you'll get more and then start earning little bites of RP and possibly a refund token. The hardest ones would be very interesting, especially if they would give you lots of RP or a random Legacy skin for a champ you have (because if it were a specific skin for a champ you don't have, it would give you another champ for free).

EDIT: Added idea for some achievements giving a refund token.

Old idea. Still want it.

Sure. But Riot will have to put aside their greed and give a commitment to the players.

Which is NOT happening.

I don't necessarily know that I'd want achievements. The more I think about it, the less I think it's suited to the genre. I don't want people to be making ridiculous plays and when you ask them what they were thinking for them to be like 'the only achievement I have left is the kill 4 people in 3 seconds achievement so I was trying for it'... I want people to be focused on the game itself, not on alternate goals that may in some cases be contradictory to the primary goal of the game.

Edit:

Achievements work in some genres because either the game is cooperative, not competitive, or the goals are fairly generic.

You'll notice there are no 'In the arena, kill an enemy while naked' achievements in WoW, because Blizzard recognizes that you don't put contrary goals into a competitive environment like that. In FPS they work because the goals are very generic usually - 'kill x number of people' for example.
