Well, keep ranking up during preseason so when they do the soft reset (i'm guessing), so you don't get dropped into it.
(current elo + 1200) / 2= placement rank in February
Your elo ~= 1550 (1550 +1200 ) / 2 = 1375 (mid Gold)
get elo = 1900 to stay where you are.
