So you picked an off meta support

I have 0 problems with this, I honestly see nothing wrong with taking alot of things support some people just don't like, but there are a few things you should at least grab while being that off meta support

  1. Get a Sightstone, while warding is a team effort, and I don't expect all wards on the map to be yours, please at the very least, grab a SS
  2. Don't take cs unless you got a targons, No, that doesn't mean you can't cs, if there's an empty lane and cs is there, take it. Don't rush to every lane and push it out for farm tho. And most support mains know the instances when there are 2 or more minions low and the adc can't possibly kill them both, take whichever one the adc isn't aiming it, cs lost is gold lost for the team.
  3. Actually support the TEAM

I'm very salty about my last loss, in which i had a support kalista, who claimed it was an extremely strong pick. Sure i could see the benefits of it, but after checking his record it didn't seem like he could pull it off. He spent the entire game pushing a lane til he died, if you tried to split push they would just come at us with 5, then go finish him off after, If you tried to push with him, he'd just recall and push a diff lane.

Now had they bought a gold item, bought a sightstone, stayed with the team, fought with the team, and you know, made an actual attempt to win the game, I'd prolly not be salty about this loss. Instead, I'm now wondering why there isn't a first pick went support kalista option under report section

I honestly don't care what support someone chooses to play. I trust my teammates to make strange picks work.

As a support main, I'm sick of people kicking me out of support and then not supporting.

I'd like to point out that none of those points are limited to off meta supports. It is just as frustrating to have a meta support that takes all the CS, doesn't get a sightstone, and tries to splitpush.

... I've been grateful most of the split pushing Leona's I've seen lately have been on the enemy team.

I can see how a Kalista support would work, but this person didn't execute it correctly. For one, Kalista can't split push at all unless you get Hurricane. If you are going support, you shouldn't even build it unless it's late game. Second, there isn't a reason to pick Kalista support if you don't stay with the team. The whole purpose of a Kalista support is to ult to save the adc and auto so the adc does a little more dmg and to use w to scout. It sounds like none of these things were done by this summoner.

i really love taking Ashe support :} people will flip shit in my games about it though, but its actually pretty fun, and I can still support better as ashe than I see most people doing with a normal support :/

Since i main it (support), and I'm always the only one who wards >.> but its a fun game once i hit level 6 with her. She's such a good utility champ I don't really see why more people dont do it for fun x)

I think a support Kalista would work well with an adc Mordekaiser.

Reason being, Mordekaiser deals close ranged damage, whereas Kalista brings long range damage and speed. At the same time, Kalista can throw Mordekaiser towards an escaping enemy to proc Mordekaiser's 3rd Q as well as an escape. Kalistas throwing ability saves any ally for similar scenarios, and when working together they balance each other out areas of damage.

Of course I've never tried it before, so I shouldn't say. It was just cool to th i nk about from reading this thread.

THANK YOU. I'm all for experimentation and trying off-meta champs, but you still need to, you know, SUPPORT your team.

Yesterday i went Brand support because you know I'm a casual and still build sightstone and got support items.

All I need was Rylai's and Lyandry's and I did the most damge on the team.

The funny thing was is that my ADC did the least damage on the team.

While Vel and Brand aren't exactly bad supports, I sure have had numerous people yell at me for the picks. No matter to me as I'll carry them to victory. The one thing that I might add is SOMETIMES, not that much, I won't go sight stone. Hear me out first though.

It has to meet certain criteria, one of which my ADC is just not in the game whatsoever, and we're pushed into the tower all game. In that instance, generally I'll try and wait until 9, upgrade my trinket, and that lets me get more damage to potentially make a comeback. I only ever do it on maybe Brand and Vel, but there are times where maybe the ADC got stuck with the role, or are just having a bad game, and I'll need to pump out the damage for both of us.

  1. If you want a sightstone, get it yourself. Played this game long enough to not need wards ( Diamond 3 no backtalk)

  2. Agreed here, no reason to take cs as support unless no one is there.

  3. Depends, if my team is good ill build auras. If you guys are feeding im going to go AP and try to make plays. Don't like it? Too bad you fed so you don't get a say.

My friend and I did Graves Ahri (ahri sup) he didn't even get sightstone and we got fed :P I'm chill with anything

a few exceptions to rule 2....

your aoe damage on them took a cs, ok that's cool.

50 gold short on sightstone? take a minion or two, it will help more than it will hurt, just don't abuse this reasoning.

Annie charging up for a stun and low on mana, have at it. Chogath feast up baby. Nunu consume for your sustain, ok. TahmKench use the minion to poke, the damage means more than 1 cs. Syndra use the minion to poke, the damage means more than 1 cs. Sion use the minion to poke, the damage means more than 1 cs.

Anytime I see these champs as "Supports" I immediately decline them from TB search.

I've had a game where I had a Heimerdinger support. I couldn't farm correctly. I don't mind having exotic supports in bot lane, but at least support the adc rather than take their farm.

I don't mind off-meta support picks. The thing that pisses me off is that whenever I have an off-meta support pick on my team, the player does not play the support role correctly and in general does not contribute accordingly.

It's like picking an off-meta tank, but not being tanky.

I just love to play Orianna sup , as our mid pick yasuo and jg sion #wombo combo. Nidalee andSejuani works well , but sometimes ppl just albuse non meta sup reason with lb , katarina , zed support just don't fucking work

I LOVE of meta picks as supports, but a lot of the time I can't trust the players simply because they build full ap/ad and I have to nag them repeatedly to get a sightstone. Annoys me a lot hehe
