RP and IP

DISCALIMER I have done the math on this, and if it could've been rounded, it was. This is not a hate post. These are all meant to be positive things, for I love this game.

1: The IP to RP ratio is not balanced (ALL MATH TO THIS POINT IS BELOW IT) I'm assuming I'm like most people. I like to get my money's worth. But if I'm not, I am a little angry. The ratio from IP to RP is way off and not balanced at all. What do I mean? (Example: You get more money out of buying a 6300IP champ with RP, than you do with a 400IP champ) This is not fair to any players, least of all beginners. Beginning players get 400RP to start out with. I think this should allow them to buy at least 4 400IP champs to get them started. I know it doesn't take that many games to get 400IP, but what about when they buy all the 400IPs and 1350IPs? I have only been playing for a year and even I don't have all the champs. You don't have to make them all basically free, but at least balance the costs to suite the same scale. The shear magnitude of amount of champs and their combined cost alienates new users and is quite intimidating to look at after you play a few games and realize how long it will take to buy them all with IP. My best suggestion is reducing the lower IP cost champs' RP cost to match the higher ones' scale. (Example: scaled to match the 6300, the 400 costs ~62RP, the 1350 costs ~208, the 3150 costs ~485, and the 4800 costs ~739)

6300/975 = ~6.5 IP per RP 4800/880 = ~5.5 IP per RP 3150/790 = ~4 IP per RP 1350/585 = ~2.3 IP per RP 400/260 = ~1.7 IP per RP

2: More options for IP So, I'm playing with a friend that has every rune/page, every champ, and pretty much everything that can be bought for IP. I've also seen on pro players' streams that they have so much IP. I know you won't do this but, could you think about making low RP cost skins (520/750) also be available for IP (not the same numbers obviously, but scaled like the champ costs are). Also, this is something I really want: alternative IP costs for the skin boost on ARAM. Again, balance this out with whatever scale you decide to use on the skins.

I know it's hard to change a system such as this, but look how many other things are changing (masteries/champ select?etc.) I've mostly tried to bring this to your attention because I think the shear amount of champions and amount of time/money required to get all 127, is driving new players away. They want to play, but all the champions that have interesting mechanics and are fun are expensive in time and money. I love this game, and I want to see it grow. I hope you at least take a look at this and consider it. Constructive criticism is welcome from other players if I missed something or my math was wrong. Thank you

This is exactly what i had in mind, like make the 520 skins or atleast the 390 skins cost ip.

  1. I am quite fine with it not being balanced. It takes too much to get content already so I am fine with the prices. I doubt anybody buys the 400 champs outside of the already discounted bundles and most probably don't buy the 1350s either. So I'll take the discount for new champions instead.

  2. As you might surmise, I would like it if they did have more options as well. But good news! (Maybe). Did you read the Hextech Crafting announcement? It might just give us a way to spend IP, or at least get content easier.
