Solo queue lobby 'vote to kick' function/pre-game trolling

I'd like to see solo queues implement a 'vote to kick' function for pre-game lobbies, or have options to report someone from the pre-game lobby.

It's rare enough, but trolls do raise their horns right from the pre-game lobby sometimes. From the players who:

  • demand a role, refusing to compromise, forcing 4 other players to adjust (The player who says "mid or feed" etc. and just refuses any offers of compromise)
  • players who purposely make forming a team composition as difficult as possible by switching around/calling other roles after more picks are made
  • players who just straight up drop hate and offensive language before you're even in the game... These situations leave the decent, neutral or positive players completely powerless. Even worse, these players often turn an otherwise peaceful lobby into a toxic environment by getting others to fight with them and each other. One troll can set two or three players off, and the whole team morale just went out the window. Who wants to play under those conditions? I've watched countless lobbies go off like a powder keg, and I just wanted OUT. I didn't want to play League anymore with these 4 strangers, the whole situation was just wasn't something I wanted any part of, yet my options were fairly limited, especially without detriment to myself and my account.

Usually it's just one player in the lobby making the whole experience a chore. Why not encourage co-operation right from the pre-game lobby by giving the four other players the ability to unanimously vote the 5th out and re-queue for another? Or how about being able to report someone from a recent lobby you were in pre-game? If players know they are expected to co-operate and act according to the Summoners Code in all their interactions with others, improvement is more likely. If players know they could potentially get kicked out of every lobby they go into if they don't try to work with others, the behaviour is way more likely to self-correct voluntarily.

Dodging sucks, I hate doing it. I just want to play. I don't want to fight with strangers over roles, and I certainly don't want to play a 30-45 minute game with someone who is throwing racial slurs and hate speech right from the pre-game lobby. On top of that, if I dodge due to insulting behaviour or someone who clearly just isn't interested in forming a constructive team environment, I'm the one who gets dinged for LP and has to wait for a queue timer to run down? Nuh-uh, that's a broken system right there. It also means troublesome players go undetected or unreported if someone dodges a negative experience. You better bet your bottom dollar the smart players also drop from queue to avoid that one rotten apple that caused the martyr to take the LP/timer hit. Meanwhile the problematic player just gets re-queued with a fresh lobby of 4 other poor saps who have to be exposed to their nonsense. I've lost count of the amount of times I wanted to report a player I dodged, or was thankfully re-queued away from. Just because it isn't in a game chat log, doesn't mean a player isn't having a negative effect on others. In fact, the irony of this situation is that the proactive players dodging for their own sanity are in effect helping trolls and toxic players continue to behave that way, or go unreported.

Balancing the prospect of dodging a toxic pre-game lobby and just eating the LP hit & queue timer, or suffering through a game I no longer want to play just isn't a choice a positive team player should have to make.

I find that League only provides the most basic tools for the user, to help create a positive play experience and player community. Any system has the potential for abuse, but clearly the answer isn't to have players dodging trolls only to get the punishment themselves. Someone who is uncooperative in the pre-game lobby, is probably going to continue that behaviour right through to the conclusion of the game. Someone who is dropping offensive language, or who is harassing others in the pre-game lobby should be reported, even if they're silent (by choice), or muted by the user. Why make players suffer these antics for the duration of a game?

i feel the same as you we need to be able to vote to kick in pregame if someone is going to ruin the game for everyone. had a post a way back similar to this one but nothing ever came of it. I lost a promo game because a kid wouldn't compromise when another teammate took twitch adc and locked in. the troll player then decided to take Lucian and go top with our teams second pick tryndamere. all game he was complaining that the jungle wasn't ganking top or taking dragons (the jungle sat bot lane to help the twitch).

This has been proposed many times. It still has the problem of things like "your mmr is low, kick" or "you picked urgot, kick" and the trolls would still troll, you can't stop that.

Tl;dr: no
