Toxicity has gotten REALLY bad again.

I'm debating whether or not to just quit League of Legends altogether.

No matter what ranked game I go into, there is someone saying "REPORT ____" or "FUCKING FEEDER REPORT HIM FOR FEEDING STUPID NOOB."

I'm absolutely sick of it.

I don't care how tryhard you are at this game, there's no excuse for being toxic. Riot needs to lay down the ban hammer again.

"but you can just mute them."

If I have to mute every player at the start of the game, there's clearly a problem right off the bat. Fix it Riot.

I play Ranked to have fun, and because no one surrenders in it. It's a much harder game when it's ranked and I like the challenge. And a lot of these try hards tell me "RANKED ISN'T ABOUT FUN STUPID." Is this really what you want your game to be about?

And when I try and explain to them how toxicity is just gonna distract a player from the game, they say "LOL NOW YOU'RE GETTING REPORTED FOR VERBAL STUPID!"

Your game is just one big joke right now because of it.

I can understand your frustration, there are a lot of agressive people on the Rift. But you have to ignore these people. And by ignoring I don't mean just muting them. Delete them out of your life. They are not a part of the game for you. You only focus on the positive aspects of the community. Just don't say ANYTHING to them. The more you talk to them, the more emotions will flow into the game.

The game claims to be about teamwork, but every bit of its mechanics encourage competition between teammates. This is a massive game design flaw, ported from Dota and faithfully reproduced in every moba, which is why they're all toxic hellholes.

Just mute and move on. According to riot,

Seriously. Just. Mute. What's the harm? There is a problem, obviously, but it's not just with LOL...it is with almost any online game. LOL is worse than most because (1) it is free; (2) it is competitive; (3) it is team-oriented; and (4) anonymous.

And do be hyperbolic, the trolls and ragers are not the majority. There is usually one or two ragers per game. I have a rule of thumb: If I am about to type "back" to someone on my team, I mute instead. Don't tell them their muted...just mute them. Don't blame Riot, they have a mute button and report feature for your use.

There is virtually no disadvantages to muting someone so JUST MUTE.

I dislike muting team mates, but i do not get bothered by what people say. I like to read it so i can remember who i'm reporting after the game ends.

If you see it in ranked, then don't play ranked. I didn't get ranked last season, because once i started doing my provo games i got lots of shitty (not bad at the game, but rude) team mates. Season three my teams were almost always great. I called ADC in one of them and my FPS started tanking to like 4fps. I told my support and she was understanding. I would let her take the kills and i'd just do the damage i could and when i got killed for being stupid (and called out for it) she defended me. Not everyone sucks.

Being positive in chat, and playing safe however is the best way to never have anything directed towards you. Some people will still talk shit because they think its a good idea grab baron at 20 mins when everyone on the other team is up and they have wards around it...and they'll yell at you because you said no...but thats because we play with retards. You just have to say "i do not think that is a good idea." I do like the saying tho "A bad idea that everyone follows is better than a good idea that no one follows." You can think about that how you will.

blah blah blah words, lost my train of thought.
