1920 x 1080 gives 60 fps?

Ok, today while playing League, I noticed something. I am stuck at 60 fps and was looking around to see why that was. Before today, I would be at 200+ fps and it lags a bit with 60. I noticed too that if I lowered the resolution, my fps sky rockets, but I don't like to lower the resolution and I shouldn't have too??

Can anyone here help me as to why that is? If I set it to 1920 x 1080, it gives 60 fps max. If I lower anything else to that, it sky rockets my fps.

Also, if I run it at 60 fps, my computer will freeze and make a buzzing sound which means I can pretty sure assume it's a driver problem that caused this issue even though they are up-to-date and I am really bummed out because I cannot play league otherwise it will freeze on me

Edit: FIXED! I only have this up for people who stumble upon the same problem and will have this answer. Riot's FAQ does not mention anything about reverting the compatibility mode of the game to windows 7 or 8 which lead to the solution of my issue.

Another note, 1920 x 1080 on windowed gives me 120 fps but I cannot play like this. This never happened before up until today.

There is no fps cap on anything. Nvidia no cap, league no cap. Can't find any solution to this ahh

Keep in mind that the actual fps will never exceed your monitor's refresh rate, and having it higher than your monitor's refresh rate can have unintended consequences. For a lot of monitors this is 59 or 60.

Same problem here. Stuck at 60 FPS, sometimes 61/62 but never higher and a bit laggy. And once or twice a game a freeze, have to force shut it every time. Before this I was running 120 FPS at least, and it was always smooth. Is the problem already fixed? Any solutions?
