Riot needs to help new players.
I recently created a smurf account, and have noticed that new players tend to pick champs and take them into lanes they aren't meant for. For example, Garen is one of the starter champions for new players. They will chose him and go bot lane, only to be destroyed by an ADC who may or may not be smurfing as well.
I think Riot needs to address this. If new players don't know which lane to take certain champs, and do poorly, not only does it ruin the game experience for the rest of the team, but for the players themselves.
Not only that, but players would learn which champs belong where before they hit level 15, resulting in better games and a higher learning curve.
A solution to this would be grouping. In Blind Pick, there could be 5 sets of groups, each with their own individual starter/free rotation champions.
Example: Top Lane: Garen, Ryze, etc. Mid Lane: Annie, Kayle, Lux, etc. Bot Lane: Ashe, Jinx, etc. Support: Taric, Lux, etc. Jungle: Master Yi, etc.
And I'm sure with the experience required to hit level 30 being halved, there are going to be a lot more smurfs on the Rift.
