Ranked Dominion?

Hey everyone. I am a Dominion main. I mostly play Dominion but I do get a lot of fun out of Twisted Treeline.

Summoners Rift has become quite stale for me (been playing on that map for waaaaaaaay too long, WC3 days and all) and when Dominion came out all of my friends lost their sanity over it. We played it for weeks without any other game mode in between. We recently picked up Twisted Treeline simply because it has ranked and Dominion does not.

When I talk to people about Dominion, they say they don't want to play it because it's not ranked or not balanced enough. With the sweep of recent changes to the map, I think it's time for a Ranked mode to be set.

A big reason Riot won't make a Ranked Dominion queue is because the player base is so small. We have only Riot to blame for that as they have had almost ZERO promotion over the entire lifespan of Dominion (except for a few things here and there). Most players don't understand the meta at all because we can't advertise it like SR pros can.

We've been asking for Ranked Dominion for so long now, only for our (recent) calls for help to fall on deaf ears. Riot! Please! Give us Dominion fans Ranked! Okay they may be asking for a lot right now. Considering the past with Dominion and Ranked support... How about a status update on ranked mode for Dominion? Do we not have enough players? Is the map unbalanced? Is there something wrong with the clients GUI that Dominion can't be added? A light would be nice in this long hallway of darkness.

Also, inb4 "its just dom". It's not just Dominion! It's really fun, more fun than Summoners Rift (my opinion). Saying something as ignorant as that is sad. Dominion is a part of League, you should love it even if you don't play it!

I played almost exclusively Dom when I started playing this game. Leveled to 30 that way ... continued playing that way ... til I wanted to start playing ranked. Then I had no option but to play SR.

would love to see ranked dominion it feels much better to win and lose on since you legitimately have a chance of winning even from a major screw up.

SR has three phases the build up- where you lane and get ready to fight. the tipping point the early team fighting and tower pushing that leads into the final phase where its become pretty obvious who will win but you spend another 10- 20 minutes pressing your face against a wall hoping the winning team will screw up royally.

dominion is what happens when you remove the build up and a brick wall phases. it exists purely in the tipping point

I know i would play a lot more dominion if he had a ranked mode. Frankly the reason I went back to SR was no dominion ranked mode.

I do know that the balance was an issue but they are not balancing champs in a map specific way so I do agree it is time to have a ranked dominion que and thus force the meta to evolve past a testing ground for people on champions they are inexperienced with.

I also agree that riot needs to put some love into the project and advertise it more. Maybe a double IP weekend for playing the mode.

Dominion matches are quite quick as I played it from level 1 with Katarina as my main and with correct communication and speed of the champions would make the matches certainly interesting. I agree on making this Dominion a ranked queue but start it out as a beta first of course.

I like Dominion, but I really can't see there is enough popularity to make a Ranked Dominion. The queue times on blind can already take a long time. I am guessing the lack of popularity is why we don't have a ranked Dominion already.

I kind of dislike the draft format because of how much of a burden it makes Champion select, but I would rather have ranked. Rito pls /singed

I have somewhere in the vicinity of 700 wins on the dominion map and all the players I play against and with have something more like 100 wins (often times less) on that same map. It seems like when Dominion did not become an instant success Riot just abandoned it like a baby they floated down the river because it could not do Eisenstein level physics at 6 months of age.

I could probably see I ranked team queue for Dominion happening someday. In the meantime, maybe you can start a stream up show casing dominion games or running just your own small dominion tournies. I know there is one group out there that does this, so maybe contact them and see what you can do to make dominion gain recognition.

Well that's a great idea but hardly anyone please dominion in general. I took enjoy the game type, but the number of people who play it is minor compared to SR. Hell, the draft que time for Dominion is like 15 minutes.

First of all, more people have to play Draft Pick Dominion. Currently, you need to wait between 30 minutes and an hour(or sometimes more) in queue to play Draft Pick on Dominion. I doubt Riot is going add ranked any time soon because of this
