Zed

I have been thinking about getting Zed. At first I really wanted him, because of his awesome skins and his high burst and deuling potential, but I have been doing some research. There seem to be a lot of cons to him: -Bad late game -Shut down with a Zhonya's or QSS -Can't teamfight etc. So... Is it worth it to get Zed? He seems really good and cool, but I'm not sure if the bad outweighs the good or vice versa. If you play Zed, your insight would be amazing. (Or if you don't, but just have an opinion.)
