Grades are based on other people who play the same champion in the same position. Picture it like a bell curve, where B ranks are the most common. S ranks are supposed to be difficult to get because they show you were playing like the best players of that champion in that role.

We don't have many actual details about what goes into the grades, so all I can really say is good luck and try to close your games quickly.

S and S+ especially are intended to be for games where you are somewhere between godlike and perfect.

Yeah i went 3- -3- -12 with thresh and get an s rank. One game i went 8- 0-- 34 and got an S + the next time i went 4 --1 --12 i didnt even get an S-. THey claim they base it off the game or other people in your elo playing that champion, but they base it off your previous ratios.

Why is getting an S so hard?

Because it is defined as playing a game and ending with results far better than most people who played that champion.

That, by its inherent nature, is not going to be easy for most people.
