So riot doesnt care about elo boosting anymore?

THere is blatant elo boosting going on in my friends list. and its so obvious being that this person is consistently at work around this time, i actually spoke to the boostee, the skill difference is immense, and he even has rune pages named after his name so he doesnt mess with the account owners rune pages. doesnt riot even care about this crap anymore? there is no reason this should be happening, 1 guy lives in canada, the other lives in the states, so its an easy IP thing. they have completely different champ pools and 1 is good at this game, the other is bad. i dont get how this is hard for riot to see...

Your title is clickbait. Intentional or no. Non-existant conspiracy with no actual evidence.
As has been mentioned in the other comments you obviously have not taken time to think about your suggestion in detail, which in turn invalidates your opinion on Riot's performance.

I am not account name dropping or anything, I am just uninformed of the whole catching elo booster process and curious as to if they actually still punish boosters. if it takes a long time to catch people, then fine, i was not aware. I am just personally in the dark and i cant stand people that boost and want to make sure they get what they deserve, as bad as that sounds.

Completely understandable, it's very frustrating and involves intentionally gaming the system. However, let's think about why and how you posted this. (Naturally I am assuming here, feel free to correct me, they're your intentions after all)

Why: You posted this to try to bring this action to Riot's attention or to ask what you as a player can do to combat this behavior. Noble goal and good intentions.

How: You posted talking bout what you've seen without sources (you're free to post screen shots with the names blacked out), questioning Riot's intentions ("Does Riot even care about this crap anymore?") and not the results or process. Your title specifically comes to mind about this.

If you have a question, ask it.

But if your question is really "Does Riot even care about this crap anymore?" then you're not going to get many responses, because it's simply obvious that yes they do. They actively lose money and hurt the community by actively allowing this behavior and/or ignoring it. Will they be perfect about it? Of course not. Will there be Elo boosters anyway? Of course, as long as people pay them.

I apologize if I come off as harsh, but your title is the specific thing that annoys me. It's a product of a lot of gaming forums by baiting activity within a post by claiming a conspiracy and/or speaking for other people. More activity, more visibility, more feeling of importance for the OP. Again, whether you consciously meant that or not, it's simply incorrect and reinforces that behavior with its presence.

Why would i think that? Ill tell you what i dont think though, I dont think that 1 minute a player could be in washington on league then the next second log off and back on in canada. also i dont believe somebody could be at work in washington and playing league of legends at the same time in canada. ya, I dont believe that is possible. correct me if i am wrong though.

The punishments for elo-boosting are quite severe, so they have quite a burden of proof. As such, they take those investigations seriously, and don't apply sanctions until they're quite certain.

Since your tone implies that you think they've completed an investigation and found the player innocent, I'd like to know why you think this.

but lets say 5 months from now this account is still being played by multiple people should i be assuming that riot is still investigating?

Either that, or that it never came to their attention. Or a combination of the two.

I know they're very good and very accurate at determining whether people are actually boosting. I know that it takes them a fair amount of time to build their cases and complete their investigations.

And I know that something has to trigger that investigation in the first place, because there are far fewer account-boosting specialists than there are accounts that could be boosted. By orders of magnitude.

It is very difficult to catch an elobooster. As there is no way to say that a person didn't just start playing a certain champion or finally learn a new runepage from googling some guids.

Is there a time frame i should expect riot to deal with the account? and is there any proof i can provide for riot that will help them if they "miss" the account? I am kind of fueled by anger towards this person now, since he was supposedly a friend until last night where he showed his true colors. and what best way to get back at him than to ban his account that is being boosted? I know that sounds messed up, but it is what it is.

If you want to be sure it's brought to Riot's attention, your best bet is to submit a support ticket. It'll take time for them to investigate the case, and Riot won't tell you what actions (if any) they eventually take. Still, if you're correct - and I'm not saying that you aren't, just that I have no way to know either way - they'll figure it out. The specialists who investigate these cases are very good at their jobs.

alright thank you. i hope this helps. i just get this disgusted feel when i watch this guy just get boosted right in front of me, and its really disgusting because this is a double account elo boosting job and its on like a 20+ win streak with champions the original owner never plays. and the scores are like 10-0-8 and multiple pre 20 minute stomps. its pretty disgusting, and if riot cant catch this account as a boosted account, then i just lose all faith. but it will take time, i just hope it doesnt take like a year or something ridiculous.
