Thank you For Ekko

Riot, THANK YOU!

I main support, and fail miserably every time I get sent mid but this is a champion I will be picking up day one (launch skin included).

A midlaner with a supporty kit (aside from Karma) is something I've been waiting for. More importantly, having Ekko be a black kid is AWESOME. I love that this game hasn't gone with the stereotypical large black muscly bruiser black guy. Having yourself represented in LoL (which is a game all about power fantasy) is a BIG DEAL.

Thank you for my first midlaner, thank you for my first cosplay character. I promise to post pics later in the year.

Same. I'm more into his personality. I love Zaun, and it's great to see a good Zaunite, specially when he's taking the piss out of Piltover.

Moar like "Pisstover", amirite?

Agree with the black kid part. the rest I think you got it wrong.

Why not play Lulu, or Orianna, or Morgana, or Lux, or Zyra, etc.

Probably should have clarified, melee/assassin.

Kayle has been the closest i've come to what i envision. I work best when I can help set up plays and support my team. So if i'm ever sent mid I jut try to farm and roam a lot and do that I can to cc/heal/shield in teamfights.

Nidalee?

Does anyone REALLY want to encourage someone to start playing THAT champ?

MrBuffington1 votes

Alright, first off, hop off the Nidalee QQ train; second, you say you want a support mid laner, you bring up Karma as an example, and I list a bunch of support mid laners. You 'clarify' you want a melee assassin, which, how the heck does Karma fit that description? And you're seriously going to start sassing me? For real?

maybe i should have put a ":p" so you wouldnt get wound up

seriously though...as frustrating a champ as nidalee is, there is no utility in her kit besides the heal.

Ekko on the other hand has many tools built into even his basic attack that assist can his teammates in securing kills...which is how is how my playstyle trends

That's the reason I didn't suggest Nidalee in the first batch (which, by the way, her traps provide a ton of utility, which again just suggests to me you're just complaining about a champ you don't really understand), but you kept adding stipulations despite them not even applying to your model champ (Karma), so I made an adjustment.

Look, I'm not bashing you for liking Ekko, you can do that all you want, I like him too. Yes, I do agree he feels like he fills a niche that I've been waiting for. But if you're making these ungrounded statement and then try to brush them off, yes I'm going to be annoyed.

LOL

Dude, let me clarify. In my excitement for ekko i am failing at english.

When I am forced mid. I go Karma usually, because that is a support that I like and I play that I can just farm with and be useful with later.

Ekko is an assassin that is designed to go mid with a supporty kit...in their own words, a mid lane ashe. This suits me just fine. So instead of taking a support into the midlane...it appears I will now have access to a midlaner who is designed to have a kit full of utility.

Makes sense?

Thank you Riot, for Ekko.

My point has always been that we have access, currently, to mid laners with high utility/supportive kits; you don't have to wait for Ekko for one, there are plenty of champions that are designed as mid laners who have massive utility in their kits. This isn't an issue with your English, this is a conceptual mistake.

You mean supports that go mid.

MrBuffington1 votes

Morgana, Lux, Orianna, Annie, Zyra, etc are all designed as mid laners.

Annie should be the first champ to come to mind...

MrBuffington1 votes

Annie doesn't have a support's kit, she's only played as a support since she has strong harass, high damage, and a powerful stun. Other champions I mentioned do more to actually support a team, where Annie is more of a mage that can function as a support, sort of like Brand or Vel'Koz.
