A final note to all of these toxic people. [Warning, Wall of Text]

I've been playing League of Legends for at LEAST 3 years now, back to back, at least 3-4 games a day. I've played enough games against every damn matchup I've ever had the misfortune to see, from the 5 mid junglers to the 4 afk's and a BM Shaco. I've seen good players, and no, not those people who carry your game so you see them as 'good,' no, the players who actually play the game instead of attacking their own team, and for what? For what, exactly? Does it give them a turn on? Does it help them win? It does none of those things, and they know it. But it doesn't matter. I've thought I've built up a tolerance to flame and hate, even more so because I mained a champion that I deem as fun, although the community might argue that Talon is 'Un-playable', 'Lacks counterplay (Partly true.)', and is just out of the mainstream of champions, and because of this, nearly just every game, I get flamed for 'wtf troll talon pick' and the likes. I've just about had enough about it. I'm done. It's finished. These...idiots have no idea. League of Legends is meant to be a game for fun, for people who want to have fun, even in the Ranked game modes. Not a single person who reads this can say that they haven't played one Ranked game where it wasn't actually fun. I've tried too long, using Riot's report system and whatnot, but regardless of what I do on my end, the SAME people, and yes, I know, the same people, end up with me the next game and flame me then. Then they talk smack and I sit there, taking the abuse. All you people who read this, and your only response is 'lol cya noob', 'qq' and all that other bullshit, you're why I'm leaving to begin with. I can't play, no, I can't enjoy myself in a community where people just don't give half a damn about the people they play with.

The people you play with, the players, the carries, the noobs, the jungler who never ganks but carries late game because he got fed off the jungle, are real people. They'll never show it, but what you say hurts. What you say about them fucking hurts. It stings like a mother's slap. It burns like Ignite. But you'll never care. Not even our fellow Rioters care. They say they do, but even they, as unlikely as it seems, flame just as well as the next guy. I don't care what happens to this thread, it could be deleted, it could be brought down to injustice and hell, but...what does it matter? After you read this, what happens? You go back to your game, throw some salt at a fellow summoner and eat your popcorn? Think about it, all you bystanders who watch an arguement and say 'eats popcorn.gif' is it really funny to know that two real, living human beings are fighting over a game? Is it hilarious to know that you might LOSE because of them? Is it funny at all? All you people BEING flamed, is it a good feeling to know you're being talked down about? Does it? All you jerk-hounds who seek pleasure in hurting other people, why? Does it make you happy? Does it fill a void (Hi Kassadin.) in your heart? What's wrong with you to the point where you have to harm a player that is more or less your age? Is it because you're unlikely to ever see them again? Is that why you feel as if you have to dish out as much harm and discord as you can before this 'rich opportunity' leaves?

As for you who really do care, I'm sorry. I'm sorry you had to read all of this. I'm sorry you had to wade through this wall of text. I'm sorry that the community is based on, not a pool of over a hundred champions, but a few handpicked champions, such as J4, Vi, Ahri, to name a few. When was the last time you saw some variety? I know, Riot's making some new changes and whatnot, but what does it matter if all the champions are being essentially replaced by new ones?

A limitless number of haters and just general anarchists fill the community. It's not going to take statistics and the whatnot to prove it. Riot says that a low, a very low number of people are truly toxic, but I'm sure that's false. Their statistics are based off of reports and etc. But most people don't report them. Reports don't hit hard enough, or scare people enough to do anything more than make the reported people chuckle when their screen goes 'You were recently reported for: xxxxxxx'

Whatever. League was a damn good game while it took up 3, maybe 4 years of my life. For the longest time, it has taken its rightful throne at the center of my attention and life. (No, no, my grades aren't slipping. I promise.) But that time is over. I leave it to those who still manage to brave through the torrent of hate to enjoy the game.

League of Legends is meant to be a game for fun, for people who want to have fun, even in the Ranked game modes

Prepared for the downvotes, but it isn't. It's designed around allowing players to feel a sense of accomplishment.

To quote the dev blog from six months ago, "In the MOBA genre, we believe the main thing that motivates players to stick around is the pursuit of mastery. Whether you're trying to be the best League player in the world or you're just picking up on how to last hit, playing League of Legends is about continually growing and becoming a better player. We believe that players who play League are seeking mastery, and our design philosophy is deeply tied to this idea."

It is great if you actually manage to have fun playing League of Legends or at least always strive to, but that is not the concept the game is designed around.

is it really funny to know that two real, living human beings are fighting over a game

Sometimes, depends on the argument and how hard I'm carrying. If you're flaming during an argument, you're being stupid. Stupidity is funny sometimes. Sometimes brushing off an argument your teammates are having is a more effective disengagement than trying to chastise them.

What's wrong with you to the point where you have to harm a player?

Ah, that ties back to the original point of this game being about a sense of accomplishment. We go into a game expecting to kill everything, save the day, carry the team, and just generally be really awesome. That's a pretty high expectation, and not getting what you expect can lead to quite a bit of frustration. When the game is going really poorly, or at least seems like it is, the only way to release that frustration is to either AFK and do something else or put it into chat. Now each player is going to have an individual breaking point. Some, like me, are sore losers and freak out at the most minor feeling that things aren't fun. Others are patient, respectable people that take significantly more frustration to break. Either way, the point is that the people flaming at you are rarely sadistic, flat out mean, characteristically toxic, or trying to make you unhappy for no reason. They are not "haters" or "anarchists". They're just trying to expend their frustration.

I leave it to those who still manage to brave through the torrent of hate to enjoy the game.

That's fine too. The game is frustrating and filled with frustrated people. Sometimes taking a break to play The Sims is the better option. I just want you to do so rationally and intentionally.
