Zed tips?

Hey guys, I'm a jungle and top main, and recently picked up zed as my midlaner. I liked his play style and I can perform fairly decently with him. I was wondering if you guys could give me any tips in general. Also, I tried out a couple different builds but I wanna know what you guys play. Should he be more bursty and assassin like or do some sustained damage? I've also seen the crit zed build but haven't tried it out yet. What do you guys think?
