Blue Essence

I have been playing a ton of Irelia lately and I have gotten more than my share of S and S+ games on her, but still don't my mastery level 7 because I don't have any blue essence.

I'm not here to complain about the mastery being tied in with the hextec crafting system, I just want to know if there is anyway to get blue essence. I have bought a few chest and key bundles and I got nothing but skin shards. Which are useless because I need to disenchant champs for the blue essence.

Is there anyway to get blue essence or champion shards other than rolling your luck in chest?
