New skarner rework is forcing him into the jungle... and I don't like it.

The new Skarner rework is a huge nerf to his potential to lane.

Moving his passive Crystalizing sting to his E removing the stacking effect. While this could be a good thing to quickly stun an opponent, this really hurts his damage from his ult. At levels 6-11 when you would potentially be using his ult in lane, Skarner's base damage is less than half of what it used to be. Riot has compensated this by giving him 100% AD scaling, but if you where building AD on Skarner in the first place you where just setting yourself up for a really bad time given that Skarner is a tank that just happened to do damage once you got rolling. Also this does not in anyway come close to the amount of damage he could dish out with 3 stacks on an opponent ulting them and then reapplying the 3 stacks to his opponent and then proccing the stun.

Let's not forget the nerf to his Q as well, removing his movement speed and attack speed buffs when he is not in range of one of these pillars! These pillars do not give Skarner anything he didn't already have on his Q other than vision for a short duration after capturing it. The whole game play of Skarner is going to revolve around hoping to have a team fight next to a pillar. Which are only near two major objectives on the map, Baron and Dragon. They don't really help his clears, only thing that they give him that will be nice when he is farming is the movement speed to get from camp to camp or escape a gank in his jungle.

Skarner was one of my favorite laners and I really thought I was going to be able to use him to shut down these Sated junglers, because of his surprisingly great sustained damage combined with his amazing cc, but these nerfs to his kit when he is not in the jungle (even when ganking a lane) are really just going to hurt him a lot! The only way these pillars can be of use is if the enemy is in your jungle, otherwise you have to hope that your team wins lanes because his ability to help them as a jungler has been nerfed.

TL;DR -Skarner's ult damage has been gutted -the utility from Skarner's Q has been completely removed -these pillars are just a stupid gimmick that forces Skarner into the jungle to be near them, so that he can have part of what was already on his kit back.

Hey, at least they're not completely useless if you lane him.... they give your enemy team gold and vision!

I like to run Skarner top. Had a bit of an issue last game, due to the fact that if you don't ban

Ahri Shyvana Diana then you auto lose.

And if you don't ban the easymode characters Vi Riven Katarina Leblanc Vayne

Then you're probably going to lose if one of them isn't on your team.

But yeah. This rework is horse shit.

So...when I'm playing normals and I just so happen to want to play Skarner support (it's not ideal but for kicks and giggles it is fun and I have made it work before), I'm basically handing the enemy the game because they can abuse the shit out of his rework?

Riot, I want an effing refund back on the champion AND the desert scorprion skin!

He is worse than Kalista's ult now in the "I have exceptionally little say in how my mere existence affects the game" category.

Just to jump in, this is slightly off. The pillars give him MORE than what he had on his kit. He gets, what 150 MS for being near one? Kinda hilarious.

Welcome to the club Skarner, take a seat next to Morde...

On a serious note though both of these reworks don't make much sense on a gameplay and thematic standpoint and don't solve any issues with their kits...
