But aussies love gaming. It's hard to get a player base though when you introduce gamers to high amounts of lag. Seriously every game I've play There's always a bunch of aussies, takes just those 100 to each tell 100 friends. Then you still have 100 total aussie players ;P
It's been a few years since I've read anything about it, but aren't most internet connections in subsaharan africa still charged by how much data you use? It'd just be ridiculously expensive to try to get a server down there.

In Melbourne and Sydney the lowest ping server available was NA, China had higher ping, Korea had higher ping and requires a social security number TW didn't exist yet, and the ping was higher than NA pre move.
From WA there were lower ping servers than NA, but 80% of Aussies live in Victoria or NSW.
If you're trying to play from Africa I'd recommend either Turkey or EUW over NA, maybe even Brazil from Zimbabwe.
That's not to say that South Africa (as in the South of the continent, not the country) couldn't use its own server.
