they had a valid point, yours was invalid. lb is easy to counter. not seeing many annie/anivia mids has nothing to do with it. it's still a way to counter lb. you asked why, they answered. besides, lb really isn't that strong unless fed. her harass is annoying, but there's many stronger picks in mid right now
