Forced to adc? solo lanes 1-10. Forced to top? botlane 4-10 our jungler useless whole team feeds. Play mid? oh finally can put enough map pressure down so that the r%%%%%s are forced to do good. Oh jungle? can help out all the r%%%%%s.
I wonder the same thing about jungle. Even when I have great farm, a great kda, and one shot the squishies, still somehow lose. I don't get it.
Support. Easiest to carry with. U can be sure your lane wont feed, you can roam mid and help your mid laner. You can gang up with your jungler to counterjungle enemy jungler.
I roam a lot as a support, I've had enemy mid laners AFK because they got ganked by a Blitz and died, that tends to work pretty well. As a top laner it depends who I'm playing, if I'm someone like Jax or Riven I will usually take ignite and just snowball off my lane opponent to the point where no one can duel me, split pushing is also great, or if I'm vs a tank I will take TP and snowball off ganking other lanes. If I'm playing Vlad or something I'll just freeze in front of the tower and farm up for late game, since Vlad is a late game monster.
If I'm ADC I'm likely going to be playing Kalista(if I'm actually playing an ADC at all in the role), forcing down objectives, focusing farm and just providing as much damage in team fights as possible. Otherwise I might be playing Jax ADC or AP Varus and just taking advantage of the enemy teams confusion.
As a top laner, you take a lead early-game and use that to pressure top lane to force the enemy team to come to you. You want the enemy mid and jungle to be ganking you (provided you are sufficiently warded up) so that you can waste their time and give your team some breathing room.
As an ADC, I typically take a poke/utility ADC (Varus is my main ADC) so that I can siege, waveclear, and greatly affect teamfights (that AoE root is a godsend, especially in wombo-combo comps).
Every role can carry when played properly. Don't let your inability to carry with those roles affect your judgement.
