Best way to find new main?
Anyone have any good ways to figure out what champ to main next? I need a new one for ranked as irelia is geting banned more often.

I have a little system that I use, because I'm fickle about my favorite champ. step one: cut a hole in the box.
no but really, first. pick a role. I have a LOT of mid laners. i can't play them all in a day. so when i was deciding for my newest champ. i decided no mid-lane mage, no assassins. i have 2 favorite supports, so no need for a new one there just yet. that cuts a lot of the list down.
Next, know your style. I'm not an insta-gibber. i can't play lebonk, or syndra, or yas or trynd or anyone with just that in and BOOM mechanic. i have a friend who can't play tanks. mid lane, top lane, supp, whatever. she just can't play them well. know what you can play, its probably available in that role.
Then, pick out a few whose moves you like. When i was picking my next top laner, i kept coming back to how everyone said that Riven was so good. And i considered it, but i wasn't interested in her moveset. it felt too linear for me. Cho'gath interested me from the start though, because of his ruptture->scream combo. its all about the combo.
finally, WATCH RANKED/LCS. looking at champs is nice. and saying 'this is my style' is nice. but seeing them in a fight is where it's at. that's what's going to give you a feel for their identity. If you're even slightly considering a champion, take 20 minutes and watch how they play. see if their laning is as strong as you want, or how well they scale to late game. you have to get a feel for the champion.
Yeah im encountering the same problems, as my kat is still banned almost every game. What I find works is just look at who interests you , play them, and see how they feel.
Arams. If you already have a roster of champion you don't play + the free ones. That's a good idea to try out champs.
For extra randomness, you can set a rule that if there's a champion you never/rarely played selected. You try to trade for it unless you have a similar champion.
