Anyone else notice how much ruder people are on here now?

It feels like every time I queue up in any mode every douche bag on the planet queues up as well. I've been playing since mid season 2 and I remember toxicity but not to this grand of a scale. I used to really enjoy just queuing up by myself and making friends in game, my friends list has almost 200 names on it and I used to play with a lot of these people post adding them. Now half the people I meet are immature little creatures who just whine and freak out if you die once/spam pings for the hell of it. Sad to say that this is probably going to kill the game for me, as it is I only play with my friends irl now but the annoying bs I keep catching every other game is getting really old.

Anyone else old and growing a little disappointed by the way people are acting in game? I'm by no means sensitive, I've dealt with this kind of thing before, but I feel like this new community has almost zero redeeming qualities.

Coming from the perspective of a person that will most times be toxic, I would say that the cause of this is by other toxic people in the first place, and so it's like a virus.

On this account, I started playing league of legends mid season 5 (Around). In the lower levels, there isn't much toxicity, because there aren't any chatting in general. Once you get to around level 10 and above, that is when you experience the more rude people that play league. I'll go as far as to say that there are more than double amount of toxic people than helpful players in the League community.

Don't get me wrong, there are many honest and helpful people in this community (e.g. you), It's just that the community is very large and there happens to be more if not a ridiculous amount of trolls. And because of this, the newbies and/or newer players (at that time, me) get to learn this game in this custom, where being toxic is the norm. It starts off small, calling other people an idiot when you don't get your pick of a lane, and then before you know it, it escalates by flaming a teammate for a whole game because they stole a kill. It's like when you're a baby, you learn by copying. Essentially, you're doing the same thing in this game. You're a baby in this game, and you grow up by copying.

Yes, it is my fault for growing up in this custom. I knew better than to do this. This is evident because I had boundaries for myself. I don't tell other people to die, eat a AIDS hamburger, or f myself, but I've said terrible things and I regret it.

Ultimately, the reason people will be toxic is because they learned to be toxic in the first place. They know that it is wrong, but you can definitely get carried away if you don't have a strong sense of self control, or if you've never been disciplined. The only thing we can do is to see how Rito attempts to fix this.
