katarina still does not have mana, why?

I'm just curious even after her rework she remains mana/costless with low cool downs on her abilities. She's a mage assassin correct? She uses magic she should use mana.

She throws knives and runs super fast, where exactly is she using magic?

She uses AP not AD, Ability Power. Even under her description it says "Damage: Magic"
There are plenty of champs that do not use magic but yet they deal physical damage and still have a mana bar. Even riven uses a magical blade but yet she has no mana either.

There's a difference between magic damage in game and actual usage of Magic in lore, that's generally what mana is based on, Riven's sword runs on her will, it takes time for her to build up the internal strentgh hence her cds and such, Kat doesn't ever actually use magic ingame or otherwise, she's just an ap champ, it's called gameplay and story segregation, check it out on TVTropes(obligatory warning: TVTropes will ruin your life).

If anything, her resource should be gold. With how many daggers she's throwing out, it's gotta cost more to replace them than filling the quivers of most ADCs ;)
