Disabled Options and "Counter-Options"

Although there is maintenace going on today, hence, the reason we cannot get into our clients in North America, I feel as if there should be a "Counter-Option" of some sort instead of waiting here for the maintenance scheduled to be over. Personally, I do enjoy playing other games but I enjoy League of Legends the most and I just don't find other games to be exciting to me, and when I found out that League of Legends would be disabled for today, I was dumb-founded and what I was to do throughout the day. If maybe RIOT Games could create a seperate option that we could take during these days when League of Legends is disabled that would be greatly appreciated.
