Lyte getting you with double jeopardy (bans)

Ok so i admit this after i was in my promos for S1 which seemed to take forever to get there. i got a guy who nexusd me and forced a loss because it would be funny. I called him a stupid %%%%%% %%%% that should die a slow painful death. I got a 2 week BAN not a chat ban. I sent in a support ticket and requested the asshole get a 2 week ban also. They said there was no reason because he was not toxic. Ok sure i was to blame i admit.

After 2 weeks of no play. i log back on and play a game and do much worse then normal because you know 2 weeks rusty in this game means you might go negative. I get flamed and trolled but i refuse to say anything! and i mean ANYTHING only because you know they threatened me with a perma ban if i use any language of that sorts again. So after not replying back to the constant abuse and just taking it. I get out of that game and get a Chat Ban for toxicity...

Now i have to call Bs because i didnt say anything. I put in a SUP ticket and after pushing through the automated msg's i got someone to give me some text about what i said. THey said that i called players %%%%%%s and %%%%s and told them they should die.

Wait a second isnt that what i got a 2 week ban for... SO i called out my repliers and i am still in this process with them over 2 weeks. I told them that this is what i got banned for, they reply saying that my behavior didnt change and it wasnt those words i used but other forms of toxicity.

I reply asking them to post then they reply with original email saying i called them %%%%%% %%%%s. Which i then quoted what their threat was requesting them to perm Ban me. Waiting for further reply from sup who denies and will not admit to what is really going on.

If it gets out that these chat bans can be rolled up into a double jeopardy then once your in the system you will NEVER get out.

LYTE if you post what i got banned for just like your support staff did and say that is why i got the chat ban then i call BS on your system and methods.

With the Tribunal system, chat restrictions were added to the end of bans. This seems little different from that. I don't see a problem, honestly.

its to everyones own but kinda silly for getting a chat ban post 2 week ban. How does this help anyone?

NOTE: I'm speaking in generalities, here, so my phrasing won't account for niche/outlier cases.

Those who have received a 2-week ban have demonstrated significant amounts of toxicity, most often verbal toxicity. Placing chat restrictions on the account when it comes off the ban offers potential advantages to both the banned player and the others he plays with.

For those matched with the previously-banned player, they are protected from at least some of any potential toxicity he may exhibit during those first x games.

For the previously-banned player himself, they offer an incentive to learn to use chat more effectively and constructively. Additionally, because of the way the report system works for recently-banned players, it helps protect him from being banned again extremely quickly, by actively limiting the amount of verbal toxicity he's capable of making use of. (I can explain this point more thoroughly, if you'd like, but it's a rather complicated explanation and I didn't want it to bog down this post)

I agree with you but all chat bans do for me these days is staying quiet while my team harassing and hard core verbal abuse takes place.

After not saying anything for 45min i get a verbal abuse saying i was toxic. All because the trolls know how to work the new system. Then after my chat ban i get a new chat ban for being quiet and toxic at the same time. The one time i go off on someone hardcore, (over done i do admit) i get banned.

THe old days the tribunal would of passed it off as saying he was harassed to respond in such a manner.

That is it.... their response yo me calling them out they can not say any more at this time... That is not an answer or customer service... Maybe customer service is not important in video games

That sounds like a fairly standard customer service response when they've given all the assistance they feel they can regarding a situation.

Generally, I've found their customer support team to be pretty fantastic, given the requirements of the job. My biggest problem with Riot as a whole, though, is a lack of pre-emptive communication, particularly about their behavior initiatives. The chat restriction program in particular was a sore spot for me, because it's still really poorly understood, even by the people that pay attention to such things.

All of which is why I'm really looking forward to the Tribunal coming back. The return of the automated Reform Card system will obviate concerns like this.

the problem with their chat restriction program is that it has been so abused by trolls. Litterally there are people and sometimes groups of people (more is norms) that will report their whole team and the enemy for verbal abuse. i once got a chat restriction by a 4 man afk they were quad up. they all report me after follow ing me around saying lets have an ahri train the ahri gangbang train. rape ahris mother rape ahris grandmother. I just muted them all and 1v5 the enemy till loss then i got a chat ban because they all reported me at once. But i was the toxic one because i got unlucky and Q'd up with a 4 man troll team. Kinda seems silly to get a 30 game chat ban for that :/

i felt sorry for the next set of guys they had in the coming games because they were obviously trying to make a point and new the weakness of the system
