Why can't anyone take advice?

I really don't understand why someone will blow up on you for asking them to word, or call MIA's, or anything in general. I'm not toxic for asking politely for you to buy a pink and drop it in a river bush so you can see the jungle gank coming, or telling the team that Katarina is roaming with a missing ping.

There's a difference between "Try to play safer if Talon is really aggressive" and "omFG why are you SO BAD stop dying to this stupid talon jfc". Please stop mistaking the first for the second.

The following generally have to be true if you want people to be receptive to your advice:

  1. They have to be in a position to think about the advice.
  2. They have to respect the person giving the advice.

League of Legends is fast enough paced that really thinking about the advice is unlikely, and since you're a stranger to them, they have no reason to respect you unless you've done something extraordinary.

It's only logical they won't take your advice. That's why giving advice DURING THE GAME is an endeavor doomed to failure. Wait until after, ask if the person would be interested in some pointers, and if they say yes offer the advice to them then.
