It isn't much, but currently it's smarter to just buy Zeal for better stats in lane, even though avarice gives money, so this could balance the favors :)

Well, with the extra 5% crit chance, it would make the item cost efficient within 3 minutes without any kill, or with just 25 cs.
Zeal is a very different item, anyways. You usually buy Avarice Blade, then sell it when it has generated enough extra gold for your needs. Even with the above mentioned change, its purpose would not change.
The only problem I see is that there is no more risk in buying it, if you buff it that way. It's almost cost-efficient on purchase.
