For Riot: Poro King's Treasure chest cost me 1.1k RP. I feel duped.
When I saw the concept for a poro king's treasure chest, I was somewhat excited. Seemingly, it would help me unlock unique Christmas content (icons) faster while allowing me to get a mystery skin I did not own (similar to combining three shards - or so I thought).
It wasn't until after I had purchased 11 chests (an extra 1.1k RP that I would not have spent for the extra candy alone) that I got 3 poro king pieces, combined them and unlocked... a skin shard for a champion I already own (Bloodstone Taric - valued at 488 orange essence).
Now, the only three skins I had remaining in the store are the three new 1350 skins. I purchased those chests at an increased cost knowing that I was going to recoup my investment in getting one of those.
Instead, I get orange essence which is valueless to me unless I happen to get a shard for a skin that has just been released. I own the store, at the moment, with every eligible skin but Santa Braum, which I'm leaving unpurchased in the event you guys decide to do something to fix this.
Regardless, my point is that your poro king chest materials are misleading as one would expect it to operate like any other combination in hextech crafting, to give you something you can actually use and don't already own. I feel mislead and cheated here. If you're going to do something that could give you a duplicate permanent shard, as nothing has before, you should probably put a warning on your advertising materials.
Riot Support has confirmed that this interaction (getting stuff you already own) is intended ("Yes it is intended, but it's not likely something that can be undone. You can however dismantle it for essence or reroll it.") and suggested that I post here for the Dev's ("Certainly good and fair feedback; post this observation on our Boards so it can get eyes on it from Devs. ")
