Through the game sales alone where do they spend all that money if not on improving the game and make it better and better and employ more and more people and become as big as Blizzard is with all that revenue they get?
I bet it costs millions to come up with that bullshit of shyvana nerfs (the "rework", not the 20% nerf) or to gather for like 20 minutes in an office and throw darts at a whiteboard and then write down some nubers.
I'll give you a few examples of where all those money go -Krepo's gym costs -Yacht fuel -Nu-Males employed at riot that basically smile, shake hands, shitpost on twitter and eat donuts all day -Overpriced stuff
And after all that they still have to spare to -Pay wages to the employees -Infrastructure maintainance -Logistics -Advertisement -Content creation -And all the legit stuff one may expect from a corporation
If you think that they put 100% of their income in developing the game you're really naive and/or don't know how money moves in this world. Oh also the content of a wallet of a single day of a wall street employee could end homelessness in a big city in the united states. And there are hundreds of "celebrities", "politicians" and "public figures" that waste ridiculous amounts of money every single day.

Just because billions are spent on a product does not mean those who made it earn billions. I can tell you right now Riot does not have a net income in the billions.
