Guild or Clan Implementation? @RIOT
Hey Riot, I wanted to bring something I am sure most of us have been wondering, and that is guild or clan implementation. Most other games I have played in the past have many groups or clans that allow people with the same in game goals or values to come together and enjoy the game. After reading the boards for a few weeks I have noticed “factions” forming for people to join with Noxus, Piltover, etc. With the new changes in Season 5, I would love the idea of having the option to join a clan/guild in League. I understand we already have the ability to create ranked teams able to add multiple players in the pursuit of gaining ELO. However, like most players, I want something deeper than that. For example, I am a 23 year old casual player that enjoys the game for some downtime after work. Naturally, I would want to be able to join a group that is in my age bracket with a similar schedule. It would be nice for an in game screen devoted to this group (similar to teams) that shows online members that I could play with, no matter what the game type. This group would be equipped with its own guild/clan chat tab on our toolbar. Also, a reward system for achieving certain in-game goals as a guild would be a fun idea to throw around. (Possibly customizable guild icon?) Each group would have a Leader with Officers that would manage the behavior and or criteria set for that group (ex Cursing, Role-playing violations etc.), and could also manage group events. I strongly believe this would enhance the accountability for players to follow the Summoner’s Code, so they can enjoy playing with their guild/clan. (Or be kicked out of the guild/clan as a result of not following). This would help your staff @Lyte, because other players are acting as intermediaries for discipline and more players likely to behave as a result. I believe the best approach to having such a large community would be the addition of micromanagement such as this. League of Legends is an awesome game and I have been with it since Season 2 and have seen drastic improvements in the community. This is my first post on the boards and just wanted to throw this idea to your staff. Thank you for your continuous work and look forward to hearing back on this.
