Quitting League of Legends
I've played this game since the beginning of 2012---the patch when Ahri was released. I've played ranked seriously since 2013 and achieved Gold III in Season 5. I've been through so many "metas", re-works, itemization changes, vision changes, champion releases, etc. and always enjoyed myself. I put so much time into League practicing, competing, and theory-crafting. Even when met with losing streaks, trolls, DCs, or nerfs to my favorite champs, I always found something enjoyable about the game and felt excited to hit the rift to redeem myself the next day. The past four years have been a wonderful, rewarding experience....that is, until Season 6.
I can say with certitude that this game no longer feels like the same game I fell in love with. League has become so unforgiving of mistakes, so flooded with poorly balanced/over-tuned champs, and so co-opted by LCS Big-Play design that I cannot enjoy it anymore. I don't really look forward to playing these days. I either demolish my opponents or get stomped. The few close games I play are decided by one wrong move in a teamfight at 25 minutes (which used to be mid-game btw). The epic comebacks of seasons past are almost nonexistent, and with dynamic queue I actually wind up with my favorite role (mid) even less then last season. Long story short, for me the magic of League has evaporated, and it's time to go.
Good luck on the rift everyone.
