Dodging shouldn't incur any penalties.

Dodging while in champ select isn't a big deal, whenever it happens to me, I just move on, wait another minute or two, and get into champ select again. It doesn't really hurt people at all. However, the reason why dodging often occurs is when someone is trolling or otherwise being a dick in champion select, which ends up being a lot more detrimental to the game and your team than a dodge does. So, I don't really see why dodging incurs a penalty, seeing as it's often used for a good outcome, and it doesn't even really hurt anyone much at all.

EDIT: I think the LP loss should be removed, but the timer should be lengthened or unchanged. I made this post in a bit of annoyance after I myself dodged a game and received the penalty, but I now see why it exists.

People who are butthurt about not getting their pick will be salty and games will never start... I think there should be no LP loss but rather 10 mins for a queue dodge.

An individual dodge isn't a big deal. But they tried reduced dodge penalties before and you would have to go through multiple dodges nearly every game and that time adds up pretty quickly. Without penalties people dodge for every little thing.

I do with they tracked it like other punishments rather than reset every day though. So the guy who dodges twice a month isn't treated the same as the guy who dodges twice a day.

Yes it should in non ranked players people dont really get penalized and games get dodged at least 4x as much. Thus no one plays draft cause of it and has to resort to teh awful blind pick. You get to the last 3 draft picks and someone dodges cause they didnt get to play top. The penality is low enough that it can handle the dodge the troll game. As trolls who reveal themselves in champ select is pretty rare.
