Whats with the maintnence?

So I'm wondering, if Riot is going to do maintnence occasionally, it's ok, but they always end up extending the time that it takes by another hour or more when everybody who wants to play is still sitting there waiting for them. I'd like to be able to play when I'm told I can, and it's annoying that Riot can't say to expect more time needed for the servers to be up at least. And why would you say you're doing maintnence from x:00 to x:00 then add another hour? If you expected to get it done in the first period it can't take but so much longer. It would also be nice to know what they're working on so that way we don't come up with CRAZY expectations. Coding can be hard right? So Riot employees, if you read this, take some consideration into those of us who don't know but so much about coding and tell us an actual time that you will be finishing your maintnence times in the future! Rule of thumb for a long time is that every Tuesday morning, maintenance is going on. around 900-1000 PDT it comes on. What they give is estimates not definite times. to avoid people thinking this they have some right to a certain time

My only problem with it is that they waited until literally the last second to say it was going to be extended by an hour. I totally understand needing to extend it, no big deal - But you can't tell me you didn't know 30 minutes before the projected end, that it would need to be extended. Maybe a 15 minute extension could be a "We just realized..", but an hour extension they could have updated us slightly sooner, so that many of us wouldn't have been waiting to log on at that exact time rather than doing other things.
