I always praise my supports. Say when I'm not in bot lane at all and bot lane gets a kill / objective, I always say gj bot guys. If I'm adc I always thank my support for carrying me ;)

I play a lot of support, so I feel like I'm a bit more conscientious about giving praise to my supports when they're doing well, since I rarely if ever get any recognition... :(

I feel this. Whenever I play duo bot with my friends and I set up a double kill or sacrifice myself so my friends can get out alive or land a clutch CC, my friends are like "Dude you are the best support EVER," but when I play by myself, everything that I do well is simply ignored and whoever got the kill I helped set up gets all the praise.

I use to play support not because i couldn't play other lanes, but because it was fun and i use to enjoy the role. Since the ADC I use to duo has quit playing League for a while I was forced to play with other... self-dick-jerking-carries cough cough erm... i mean ADCs who always bitch at the support anytime THEY fuck up, the lane is lost, or there aren't enough wards on the map! (EVEN IN THE CURRENT SETUP WITH EVERYONE MAXING AT 3 WARDS!) I've rarely ever heard my ADC say "good job" "nice play" "n1" ect after setting them up a double/trip ect... the only thing i usually see from them is "insert ADC here can't touch this/I'm a god/2leet4you" kind of taunts after such an engage! When I get stuck playing ADC I give my supports the praise and love the deserve! They aren't an ADC's ward dispenser or and extra couple of items and abilities just to keep them alive, they are another player that has the same goal when playing League to be able to achieve a fantasy where they can carry the team and their game in their own way...

It might be just me but i find that ADC mains have a fundamental difference in perspective than their Support counterparts that have to lane with them.

ADC Mains:

  • Tend to think the game is about getting them fed and the rest of the team doesn't matter
  • Tend to have horrible attitudes when anyone says they've done ANYTHING wrong
  • Tend to believe they are the best it doesn't matter if they're Bronze V or Gold I
  • Tend to be self centered

Support Mains:

  • Tend to be a bit more open to suggestions of build paths
  • Tend to be a bit more open to changes in play style (e.g. more passive for farming or more aggressive for kills)
  • Tend to take being criticized better (e.g. Rengar: don't dive 2v5 Leona: Okay Vayne: BUT I'M VAYNE HYPER CARRY I CAN 1V5!)
  • Tend to think more team oriented (e.g. bot tower's gone maybe i can go mid and get them fed. instead of the ADC "gimme all the kills")

Just to name a few :|

EDIT Corrected that to they >.<

I have once received praise for doing anything as support. That game, I was playing Janna with a Sivir vs Jinx and Nami (probaly; not too sure on the enemies). Multiple times a 2v2 had gone a bit off, we were low while the enemies were at half or more, and my CC and shields got Sivir a double kill. We won. All three of them said "wp janna" in the post-game chat. Randoms in the world, please say "gj" to your supports. You might even get an honor out of it.

I like playing adc and I like playing support. If I'm playing adc and my support makes an awesome play I always say gj. Actually, I say gj to my support even if they were just there when I got a kill because they likely had heals/shield/items that kept me alive. If I'm support I always praise my adc when they get a kill even if I did most of the work because keeping your teammates happy = gg easy win.

Yeah, I never play support so I really don't know when to congratulate one.

Support is such... a cruel role. When you make ab awesome play as, let's say Thresh, the ADC gets all the praise. But when your Varus doesn't listen to any of your pings and 1v1s the Graves who is a level higher than him and dies while you are keeping the other Blitzcrank quiet, he types "Worst support ever". Support and Jungle are the worst roles since they are basically the scapegoat if a lane loses.
