League takes no skill
It makes no sense how league is a game of skill. In a logical thought process, mechanics are designed to remove skill and lower the skill cap as much as possible, so in a game that is entirely mechanics based where does skill come in? It can't be the decision making that is entirely linear. You either make the obvious correct choice or one of the obvious in correct choices. Let's compare playing league of legends to the like task of making fries at a fast food restaurant. Again your decision making as in league is linear put the fries in the basket, place the basket full of fries in the oil, press the cook button (not sure how modern machines work but that's all we had to do) when your fries are done you take them out and hang them on the rack to drip off excess oil before dumping them into the fry tub. So lets break it down so its more easily understood. In step one you have several options, you can place the fries in the basket , you can have sex with the fries, and you can place the fries on the ground and put the bag in the basket. If you chose anything but put the fries in the basket then you probably think league takes skill. In decision 2 we can place the basket of fries in the oil, you can have sex with the fries and basket in a little 3 way action, or you can place the basket on the ground and make racist comments about your co-workers. If you chose anything but place the basket of fries in the oil you probably think league takes skill. In step 3 you can press the cook button, you can have sex with the button or you can grab a bucket and dump burning oil all over yourself. If you chose anything but press the cook button you probably think league takes skill. Finally we can take the fries out of the oil, we can have sex with the fries before or after taking them out of the oil, or we can run outside and try to fit a helicopter through the drive-through. If you chose anything but take the fries out of the oil you probably think league takes skill. As some of you can clearly see the mechanical nature of unskilled labor is exactly where game mechanics originate. If you do ABCD your fries cook successfully, if you do anything else you are unsuccessful. You could obviously ask why if the game is so bad is it so popular and I would simply inform you that often popularity is inversely proportional to the amount of skill a game takes. Examine the phrase "unskilled masses" its called that for a reason because most people are unskilled and given the profit cap that a company can make from an individual it is much more profitable to make games for bad players give them devices to allow them to win and then sell them novelty things so they can mask the ease with which they are deceived with novelty products. Many will also argue that "League must be a good game because I play it and I only play good games", again I would inform you that that study has also been conducted and they found that by forcing you to spend time on a game (i.e laddering, grinding ip and the like) causes those thoughts. People value their investments no matter how bad they actually are. Finally the arguement could be made that omg herp derp there are pros on league so it must be a game of skill I would again inform you that pro in this case simply defines someone who is paid to do what others consider to be a hobby and the boom in professional players and esports as a whole is directly correlated to games getting easier. World of Warcraft is a game based literally on just random chance and people play that professionally and also ironically think that they win because they are good. But this is just a rant because I am disgusted at my species I don't actually expect the league community to learn or care. They are like the 6 year old child who beats his dad at supports ... because hes better than his dad... and he will never grow up and realize that his dad let him win.
